july maintenance …
The diary is bursting at the moment and we’re now struggling to fit appointments in…..
If you think your little one is due a regular maintenance groom in July (not June, July), can you please get in touch NOW to schedule in as the slots are rapidly disappearing ….
Thanks !
pretty totsie
We called in to meet Totsie. Totsie is a 3 year old tortie long haired girl, who lives in New Moston, Manchester.
Although Totsie’s coat was in good condition, we decided to let her have a Lion clip to help alleviate shedding. A very calm girl, she sat patiently on the grooming table whilst we set about the session. Totsie’s not that keen on laying on her side, but obliged at the right times so we could get the job done without too much fuss.
We decided to leave quite a low ruff on the chest – for no reason other than that’s what we fancied, and to make her more lion-ish looking ! Totsie was happy with this, too !
After the session Totsie had some of her favourite treats, then went off to catch up on that all important sleep she’d been missing out on !
Well, it’s so tiring having a groom !
Come over to our facebook page and see a short video clip of Totsie, just after her Lion Clip.
Well done Totsie …. Such a good girl !
how entertaining …!
Just pop some kibble in a few empty toilet rolls that have been glued together, and it’ll provide free entertainment …
They LOVE poking their paws into things, don’t they !
chilled charlie – not !
Meet Charlie in Billinge, Wigan, Greater Manchester.
Such a lovely, sweet, affectionate girl upon meeting her. We don’t know for sure how old she is, but think she’s about 12 years and her previous life is a little sketchy, but she didn’t have the best of times.
We were asked to call in to meet up with Charlie as her long black hair had become matted, particularly around her back, flanks and rear end. We were warned that Charlie hadn’t agreed to the session. In fact, she hadn’t been asked – because it was thought that she wouldn’t be too keen on the idea !!
Our thoughts were right !
We clipped away quite a large area and although we don’t think Charlie was frightened or anxious, she made it known in no uncertain terms that she would rather still have been in bed, thank you very much ! We then brushed out her remaining coat, which in itself was extremely thick and almost at the point of matting.
Following the session, mum and dad Paula and David said :
“Has there ever been a more difficult and uncooperative cat to groom than Charlie? Despite numerous times when teeth and claws were used to discourage you from trying to ‘delug’ her, you persevered with patience and kindness, and won in the end. She is now a lot happier and a lot more comfortable. Once again – many thanks. David and Paula.”
As we were clearing up our gear, Charlie popped back into the kitchen for a stroke and head rub … Just to say Thanks, and that there are no hard feelings !
Your coat looks so well now, Charlie. Now, be a good girl and let dad comb you ! Looking forward to seeing you later in the year for a maintenance groom …. (we won’t give you any advance warning, it’ll just be a nice surprise !)
what a lovely fragrance …
Thanks so much to Deborah and Eloise for the lovely Yankee Candle …
We had it lit last night and the frangrance is so calming and evocative xx
timid tomas
We met up again with Tomas – a 13 year old Norwegian Forest Cat (NFC) who lives in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire with his housemates and mum.
He is quite timid by nature so it was really pleasing that upon our arrival Tomas came into the room of his own accord, and came over to say Hello and for a stroke.
Being a NFC, Tomas is a large boy and his coat is quite long, and thick. Mum has been able to comb since our last visit and Tomas’ coat was virtually mat free. Just a couple of small areas were clipped away, and the rest of his coat was brushed out.
Tomas was very wriggly and would rather have been playing out … or sleeping … or something else ! However, he knew just what the session was all about and he knows that he always feels so much better for it afterwards.
Well done Tomas … See you again soon !
did you know … ?
No wonder our can hear the treats coming out of the fridge … even when they’re upstairs at the other side of the house, asleep !
elegant eloise
Who remembers this lovely lady ? This is Eloise, a Brown Tabby Maine Coon who lives in Blackburn, Lancashire. She is just 18 months old, and is quite a large lady already.
Eloise is a very gentle girl, but does like to play. She has her own favourite toys, and likes to explore in the woods nearby. Thus, her long coat gets tangled with twigs and bracken, which then easily become knotted up.
We spent some time working underneath and around the trousers, and removed one or two areas with the clippers. The rest of Eloise’s coat was brushed out, to make her comfier for the summer.
A little bit fidgety at times, but relaxed on the table. We think she remembered the last session. Eloise does like to play with one comb, whilst we’re brushing with the other. It amuses her !
Following the session, mum Debbie commented :
“Sandra thank you, I don’t know what we would do without your fantastic grooming sessions. Eloise is very difficult to groom, but you have the patience and techniques to work through”
There is a very short video clip of Eloise on our facebook page, if you want to go over and have a look. We’d love to see you over there !
A good session all round, and we’re sure that Eloise is now feeling much comfier. Well done Eloise !
june birthday babes
Here are our June birthday chicks !! Lots of familiar faces …
Who do you recognise ? Can you name any breeds ?
Mum and dads, make sure you give a big wave too !
Don’t be shy – come over to our facebook page and say Hello !
gorgeous moz
We last met up with Moz exactly 12 months ago. At that point he was almost 12 months old, and what we described as a medium sized lad. Today – he is Large, with a capital L (!).
Moz is a Red Silver Shaded Maine Coon and he lives with his litter brother and family in Denton, Manchester.
His coat was clear of any mats or knots, so just needed a good brush through – to relieve him of bits of garden, that he was carrying around with him ! Twigs and the like … !
Moz was much more relaxed this session and managed to lay quite patiently whilst we worked underneath and around his bod.
It was a hot afternoon and after the session, Moz was straight out into his garden to chill … Well, not for that long – he had to come back in a couple of times for a nosey !
After the session, mum Amanda said :

There’s a VERY short video clip of Moz on our facebook page, if you want to pop over and have a facebook page to have a look.
Well done Moz … Really good boy !
