a home manicure

Here’s young Suki in Wigan, Greater Manchester. Young at heart, anyway. Suki’s now 15 years old.

Suki doesn’t venture out very much these days. Quite a nervous girl, who enjoys her home comforts.

This was our second visit to tend to Suki’s nails. Was there any fuss ? None at all ! What a good girl !

gentle elmo

We met up with a new guy on the block – Maine Coon Elmo in Preston, Lancashire.

Elmo is around 18 months old. It’s fair to say the Elmo’s quite a big boy and very gentle with it. Inquisitive (nosey-crowing on the stairwell) but not as bold to find himself the centre of attention.

However, Elmo didn’t have anything to worry about. A few lumps and bumps removed – along with a great deal of excess hair.

Well done Elmo !

macy moo

We had quite a heated Session with Maine Coon Macy in Manchester this time around.

It’s true to say that Macy is never keen on her Sessions, but she does find some easier than others. It doesn’t seem to depend on her coat – maybe just the side of the bed that morning ?

We took away a few lugs from underneath (which is always the easiest part for Macy), followed by a work through on top.

We know that despite her protests she’ll be feeling much comfier for it. See you again soon, Macy !

bobby boo

Maine Coon Bobby from Wilmslow, Cheshire found herself on the grooming table again recently for her maintenance Session.

It’s true that Bobby’s never keen on the idea, but as soon as her little pads hit the table she lays of her own accord, and begins to chill.

Today, we took away adhoc knots with the clippers and brushed out her long, rugged coat. Where does it all come from, Bobby ?

the main guy

This 2 year old guy is Vinny.

Vinny is new to our club. He’s around 2 years old and he lives with his family and housemate in Stockport, Cheshire. Breed ? Look at those ears ! Vinny’s a Maine Coon, of course !

Today was all about a Belly Clip and Brush Out for Vinny. He’s a friendly boy who likes some fuss – but he does have a bit of a cheeky side to him. Those big, strong back legs can kick a punch on the grooming table – oh, and a couple of vocal protests – but nothing a bit of sweet talk didn’t sort. A lot of hair came away today (see piccie) from all over his coat.

Looking forward to seeing you again in a few weeks time, Vinny – to keep on top of things.

looking good

16 year old Maisie was certainly ready for her maintenance Brush Out when we met up today in Manchester.

Although Maisie’s coat is short, it is extremely dense. This, coupled with the fact that Maisie doesn’t groom as much any more – nor will she allow mum to comb her – means that our Sessions are necessary to prevent her coat from becoming clumpy.

Well done Maisie !

petit simba

Chinchilla Persian Simba’s coat was quite matted today when we called in for his maintenance Session in Didsbury, Manchester.

We took away the underneath section of his coat -ie. a Belly Clip – and the area around his shoulders. The rest of Simba’s coat was brushed out.

He’s such a sweet pea is Simba and although he’s not keen on his Sessions he goes along with them as he knows he feels great afterwards. See you again soon, Simba !

confident coco

Here’s a new guy to join us …. Coco from Bradford, Yorkshire.

We were asked to meet up with Coco, who presented as very nervous but assertive. It was plain that he wasn’t keen to find himself the centre of attention on the grooming table.

Coco’s coat had become clumpy in places – tummy, chest, ad-hoc on top – as he doesn’t like being combed. We took away what shouldn’t have been there and brushed out the rest. All under protest, but we know that Coco will be feeling much better about his bod now.

happy harvey

We met up again with Harvey in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire.

We see Harvey regularly to keep on top of his thick coat, which he finds difficult to tend to himself. He also benefits from a regular hygiene trim.

In order to help with the maintenance, we take Harvey’s coat shorter. Not a clean, sharp, Lion Clip short. More of a rough and ready Teddy Bear cut. He still has a bit of fluff left, but it’s easier for him to manage. It’s difficult to get this look anything like uniform, but for Harvey his comfort is of more importance.

Actually, you do quite suit it Harvey !

snowball

Fluff ball Snowy from Preston, Lancashire was such a good boy during his latest Brush Out.

Snowy is used to the procedure now and actually – we think he enjoys the fuss on the quiet. Quite happy to rest that head and snuggle, eh Snowy ?
