handsome mikey
We recently were asked to meet up with Mikey in Altrincham as he had developed some matted areas around his flanks and rear quarters.
We’re not quite sure of Mikey’s age, but we think he is around 15 years old.
As far as we know, this was Mikey’s first professional groom and he wasn’t keen on finding himself on the grooming table. He particularly didn’t care for his matted areas to be touched. However, he did relax sufficiently for us to begin clipping the problem areas.
We followed this with a brush out – which really didn’t please Mikey one bit. We took a lot of dead hair away (see the piccie !).
We know it was all for Mikey’s own good and that he will definitely be feeling better for his troubles. We’re sure he knows too ! Well done young fellow !
quiet maisie
It was nice to call in on Maisie once again in Stretford, Manchester. We think that Maisie is around 14 years old and she lives with her mum.
Maisie’s coat is only short but it is extremely thick.
The first couple of times we have met up, the sessions have been quite hard going as Maisie’s coat had developed a few clumpy areas. Today however, the session was timely. Maisie’s coat was thick and just at the beginning of the tugging stage in parts – but was very brushable.
Maisie had obviously remembered and learned from previous get togethers. Today, she lay very calmly on the grooming table and was nothing but compliant. As good as gold. There weren’t even that many swear words. We think she knows that there’s nothing to worry about and that she feels so much better for it afterwards.
A few days after the session, mum Jean said :
“Maisie is looking good and has been much less stressed about her grooming this time. She has been to the vet and is having eardrops daily for an allergic irritation. She was definitely not speaking to me after yesterday’s application – 8 more days of rejection !”
Glad you got your ears looked at, Maisie. Well done chick !
the pretty orientals
We called in to see these 2 little girls again, in Urmston, Manchester…
Florence and Tiger-Lily are Oriental Shorthair Mix – and they have obviously read all the books about their breed because their traits are just as they should be. The Oriental was developed using the Siamese as a base and crossing with other breeds. They are very talkative cats and highly opinionated – and you are expected to listen ! Orientals are extremely fond of their human and like to be “helpful” and will follow you around and supervise your every move. They are highly intelligent, agile, athletic and love to play. Just like our girls Florence and Tiger-Lily !
Saying all of that, the girls are a little nervous with strangers. However, it’s pleasing that each time we visit them to clip nails, the girls are noticeable less so. They really have learnt from their experience – and that Hey, it’s not that bad. Two minutes maximum and it’s all over for another few weeks.
Well done girlies – it was nice to see you both again !
gorgeous red
It was time to see our Siberian friend Red, in Sandbach, Cheshire again.
Since our last visit just a matter of weeks ago, Red’s coat has come on so much for the winter months. Extreeeeemely thick today !
Underneath, there were a few areas that needed attention with the clippers and a good brush out elsewhere.
As always, Red’s mood was friendly, loving and gentle. During our first session we remember Red being extremely fidgety and determined to leave the table. These days, he occasionally makes a half hearted attempt to get up, but is easily won over and settles down again with sweet talk.
Such a good boy !
duch lady
Who remembers Duch ? Actually, you may not recognise her against her piccie from the last session. Duch is a gorgeous Persian Cross who is 17 (!) years old. She hangs out in Warrington, Cheshire.
Last time we saw Duch she was quite heavily matted and we spent some time removing the troublesome areas. During that session Duch was very quiet and still and took it all in her stride.
Today, Duch was a different girl. Her coat has grown back beautifully and was just in need of a good brush out to get rid of the dead hair that was sat there. Oh – and she certainly has regained her mojo ! Duch was a little more fidgety during the session and afterwards she was strutting her stuff up and down the kitchen. She knew she looked good !
After the session, mum Gill said :
“Sandra, as always, is very kind and gentle and will treat your cat as if it were her own. Duch’s very first maintenance groom was very thorough and left Duch with a beautiful soft and shiny coat. Many thanks”
Brilliant, Duch ! Well done !
merry christmas everybody !!
We want to wish all our customers, friends and supporters a magical Christmas ! Thank you so much for all your support !
It’s been a fantastic year for us, meeting up with so many little ones.
We love each and every one of them xx
gorgeous schmeichel
A big Welcome to Schmeichel. This pretty lady is 15 years old and lives in Chorley, Lancashire with her housemates and family.
We called in on Schmeichel to take a look at her nails. She doesn’t wear them down as she used to and a journey to the vets is stressful for her. Therefore, mum decided on a home visit for her.
Schmeichel herself wasn’t as keen on the idea. She had been disturbed from her nap to begin with and found herself on the grooming table whilst still in a bit of a slumber. A couple of Schmeichel’s nails were very thick, which does happen during the ageing process – and Schmeichel fared very well.
Well done Schmeichel ! Nice to meet you !
pretty mitzi
We were delighted to call in again on the gorgeous Mitzi in Billinge, Greater Manchester.
Mitzi has a well looked after, thick coat and she does a really good job of self grooming. However, she is always ready for a good brush out.
Mitzi is around 9 years old and is quite deaf these days. This doesn’t mean that she’s not up for a good chat, though. She is such a friendly girl and she told us all about what had been going on over the last couple of months.
We removed a couple of tangles that had developed since we’d last met up, but mainly Mitzi benefitted from a good brush out.
Well done chick – Looking forward to seeing you again in the Spring time.
our holly
Another visit to one of our little friends – Holly in Padiham, Lancashire.
We see Holly quite regularly to keep on top of her thick coat and she is now well used to the sessions. Although by nature Holly is a nervous girl, we’re firm friends now and we always have a right good chat during her session.
She looked extra fluffy today, her coat having thickened up for the winter months. We had a good brush out and the only tangles were around her neck, where her collar rubs.
Nice seeing you again Holly … Keep up the good work, looking after your coat !
pat cat
Who remembers this handsome little man ? This is Pat. Affectionately known as Pat Cat (which always makes us smile ..!).
Pat Cat is a Persian who lives in Blackpool, Lancashire. He was rescued by his family a couple of years ago and he’s never looked back !
We last saw Pat Cat around 18 months ago. Since then mum and family have done really well brushing and looking after his coat, however he’s recently developed some mats around his lower sides, flanks and trouser area which needed some attention – along with a thorough brush out. Pat Cat’s back lower legs were particularly clumpy and he was very tolerant as we de-clumped his little Ugg boots with the comb. In our experience, most cats aren’t too keen on this area being worked on.
It was obvious that Pat Cat remembered the last time we met up. At that point he was particularly fidgety. Today, although he did try to get one over on us a couple of times – for the most part he sat quietly whilst we got on with the job in hand.
Afterwards he lapped up all the attention and praise that was given. He particularly likes being held in the arms, and cradled like a baby ! Apparently, he’ll sit there all day like this – and he went some way to prove the point !
Mum Barbara later said :
“Pat Cat is loving his Ugg Boots ! He’s a lot happier now and giving lots of cuddles. Sadly, his villainy knows no bounds and he’s driving Peggy and Lizzie to distraction. Thanks again for sorting him out xx”
Well done Pat Cat …. It was nice seeing you again, chicky !
