princess tilly
… she could be a princess, the way she sits so regally, and looks down at you ..! Tilly doesn’t play outside – instead she has her very own ‘cat-house’ where she sits high up and watches the wildlife in the garden with interest.
This is our dear Tilly, who we recently visited again for her routine grooming session. The photo on the left is Tilly waiting patiently for her groom to begin.
She was such a good girl – not a murmur, and completely at ease with the proceedings. She looked so comfy on the grooming table after the session it was a shame to move her. She was almost dropping off to sleep in the sunshine !
Oooh, she does like having her photo taken – and being told she’s a pretty girl !
Look forward to seeing you at your next appointment, Your Highness !

oliver and edward
Take a peek at these two handsome brothers. We have Edward on the left, and Oliver on the right – three year old Domestic Long Hairs (DLH).
They are both extremely friendly chaps and very inquisitive with it. Oliver more so … He explored every part of our bags and equipment before we started. They both have lovely markings and real healthy coats. However, some mats had recently developed which needed to be clipped away – followed by a good brush out to remove dead hair.
Mum and dad do comb the boys, but this session was their first professional groom. Both of the young lads were strong willed and a bit fidgety but we worked through and left them with a much easier to manage coat.
We think Edward in particular knows he’s a good looking boy … see the way he’s posing for the camera, below left ! Below right, Oliver is showing off his clipped left side (head facing left, hanging down over side of table)
Following the session, mum Linda from Liverpool said :
“Oliver and Edward’s grooming session was long overdue. Sandra was brilliant and took great care of them as well as giving good advice for ongoing care. She was very professional and it’s wonderful that the appointment could happen at home, avoiding the stress of travel.”
Thanks so much for the positive feedback Linda, and thanks for letting us work with your lads. It’s been a real pleasure ….
bowie and moz . thick as thieves
These 2 handsome Maine Coons are 11 month old brothers Moz (red silver shaded, on left) and Bowie (red silver tabby, on the right). The 3 photos below were taken before the grooming sessions took place.
Bowie is the larger of the pair, and really is a big lad for his age – with another 3 or 4 years growth still to come ! He has the most incredible tail you can imagine ! Moz is a little smaller, but still quite hefty.
Both boys showed typical Maine Coon traits. Moz was certainly the cheeky playful monkey, whilst Bowie was a little more reserved. Both were ever so gentle in their manner, although we think that Moz thought he had a date elsewhere that he was late for !
Our services were called in as the boys had recently developed a few mats – mainly around the usual areas of sides, flanks, rear and tummy. We saved the hair where possible by brushing out smaller tangles, and clipped away in areas that couldn’t be saved. Both boys then had a good brush out. We didn’t really need to clean their ears, as they service one another !
This is Moz on the left, after his session. Most of Moz’s clipping was around his rear, flanks and tummy.
On the right we have Bowie, who was more up for having his photo taken after his groom. A little poser on the quiet !
After the session, mum Mandy from Denton, Manchester said :
“Sandra was prompt and very professional throughout her time with my 2 boisterous boys. She handled them with love and care and her devotion to doing an excellent job was clear despite the best efforts of my boys to escape! They were heavily matted and a lot of work was needed to sort out their coats. Sandra worked hard to make them comfortable and I can honestly say that it was worth every penny to see the transformation. I’m sure anyone thinking about using EssentiallyPurrfect will be as delighted as I am with the results.”
Thanks for letting us work with your boys, Mandy – it was a real pleasure to meet them. Their mischievous / inquisitive / plotting expressions – sat watching from the top of the stairs as we were leaving – were unforgetable…… should have taken a photo !
… Oh, and on a final note ….. A big 1st Happy Birthday to Bowie and Moz for 4 June !!! 1 Year old !!
our mo
This lovely little fellow is Mo – a 10 year old blue Persian, who was due his regular clip.
As you can see from the photos to the left and right, Mo has an extremely thick coat which is difficult for him to tend to – and he was moulting like mad. He had also recently started to develop mats on his flanks and rear end.
Although we’re sure Mo would rather have been undertaking his normal daily activities (ie. sleeping !) he behaved well throughout the session.
Mo didn’t mind his nails being trimmed, and wasn’t at all phased by the clippers. We gave him a clip and then brushed through the hair that remained – which was very thick even on the front legs and paws. We then tended to Mo’s eyes and ears. His tummy will definitely benefit from having less hair to contend with !
It will take approx 4-6 months for Mo’s hair to grow back to full length. In the meantime his tummy will benefit from ingesting less hair – and mum’s furniture will be hair-free!
After the grooming session, mum Kerry from Clitheroe, Lancashire said :
“Mo’s a bit of a squirmer and a real grump when it comes to being groomed but Sandra was so kind and patient with him and he looks brilliant after his lion clip! We’re very impressed and will certainly be using EssentiallyPurrfect in the future.”
Thanks so much Kerry ! – and thanks for letting us work with your lovely little chap. We look forward to seeing Mo again in due course …
pretty eric
Little Eric is a pretty little black and white girl of 8 years old.
As Eric doesn’t play out very much her nails had become very sharp and were in need of a trim. We were pleased that our Services were called upon to help out.
Following our visit, mum Yvonne from Irlam, Salford, Greater Manchester said :
“Thanks for your patience with Eric as she was certainly a bit squirmy !! She seems so much happier with her new manicure and your advice about her ‘shedding’ issues was much appreciated. I will definitely keep in touch and hopefully now my clothes will last longer without all the little puncture holes in them !!”
… we hope so too, Yvonne ! Thank so much for choosing our services – it was lovely to work with Eric and we look forward to seeing her again in due course …
gentle wilf
Does this boy look relaxed ? ! ! Meet Wilf – a very much loved Domestic Short Hair (DSH). So much loved, the house is even named after him ! Wilf likes to take it a bit easier these days and this piccie was taken just after we had finished his grooming session.
After the grooming session, Wilf went to top up his belly – followed by a visit to his litter tray – then back on the couch to resume his afternoon nap ! He was absolutely unphased by the afternoon’s proceedings, but he will definitely reap the benefits of his easier-to-manage coat. The brush out relieved Wilf of an awful lot of dead hair and small tangles that were starting to form, and the foam shampoo we used really enhanced his coat.
Wilf’s dad, Stuart from Middleton, Manchester fed back to us after our visit :
“Wilf, my 19 years old black and white moggie, was groomed by Sandra with kindness and respect for his age. Wilf now has a beautiful and soft coat, and looks at least 5 years younger. So, on on behalf of Wilf, thank you.”
Thank you so much for the positive feedback Stuart – it really was a pleasure to work with such a gentle and well mannered boy.
little lily
Come and have a look at our lovely little Lily …. A perfectly white 4 year old Domestic Short Hair (DSH), who was in need of a thorough brush out to relieve her (and mum’s furniture) of all her dead undercoat.
Lily has such a sweet temperament. Mum does keep on top of her brushing, but this is the first time that Lily has been professionally groomed and she behaved like a lady ! We attended to Lily’s nails first of all, then set about brushing with a rubber brush to loosen as much dead hair as possible which we brushed out.
Then we used John Paul Mitchell’s foam shampoo (tested on humans, not animals), which really enhanced Lily’s white coat to the maximum – followed by another good brush out using a variety of tools …. rubber brush, moutling comb, slicker brush …. until she’d lost a whole bag’s worth of dead hair. We finished by cleaning Lily’s eyes (which she enjoyed), followed by her ears.
When we’d finished she really did look like a little princess (and she knew it – as per mum, The AristoCats style !)
Mum Golda from Blackburn, Lancashire fed back to us following the grooming session :
“Thank you for the wonderful job you did on Lily. She looked amazing – and I am more than satisfied. You turned her into Duchess, moreover. I will come back without hesitation. Love, Golda.”
Lovely to work with you both Golda and it’s fantastic to have such positive feedback – thank you. We look forward to seeing you both again in due course !
our marie
Come and take a peek at our Marie, a lovely 17 year old ginger and white Domestic Long Hair (DLH). A fine looking lady, we’re sure you’ll agree.
Marie’s usually immaculate hair had become matted on her back, sides and trousers and we were called in to work through her coat. We saved what we could in terms of teasing out the smaller tangles, clipped away areas that were too matted to save, and brushed out lots of dead hair. We’re sure this will make Marie’s tummy feel much better !
Following our visit, Marie’s mum Tracey from Preston, Lancashire said :
“Marie has been an absolute delight since her new “haircut” and pamper session with you. She may have been a little grumpy as she’s not used to being fussed as much as that and usually decides even to let me know when she’s had enough.
We’ve decided as a family that she now resembles a lion with her long mane and cropped behind but she’s strolling around like a little princess. Bless you, her fur is so soft and tangle free and she LOVES having her ears tickled. I think that’s the part she enjoyed the most when you came over. I am DELIGHTED with what you managed to do with her fur but I am more delighted with the happy little cat that is now walking round the house with a new lease of life and a spring in her step! I will definitely recommend you to my friends and family! Warmest regards and sincere thanks.”
lovely ellie
We are pleased that we were called in to work with Ellie, a lovely tortie girl who is approaching her 8th birthday.
Ellie’s a real sweet natured girl, but quite vocal with it and she chatted away as we worked through her coat.
The hair on her back was quite long. We clipped away that that couldn’t be saved, and brushed out the rest to relieve Ellie of lots of dead hair.
Following the session, mum Sue from Lowton, Warrington fed back to us :
“The grooming was worth every penny. Ellie won’t usually allow you to brush her, but she does love being in the garden, rubbing on the plants and getting her long fur matted and clumpy. We have never seen Ellie’s coat look so shiny before and she seems much comfier and at ease without all that extra hair. We were really surprised that she was still very friendly with Sandra even after all the grooming – as she can be a bit snooty with anyone trying to brush her!”
For us, it’s fantastic to hear such positive feedback ….. Thanks Sue for letting us work with Ellie, it was a real pleasure. Good luck going forward with combing her !
