april and macy
We met up with these 2 lovely ladies once again in Manchester. April and Macy are both Maine Coons. Macy is around 2.5 years old, and April is 6 months older and is easily the larger of the pair.
April (piccie on left) enjoys mum combing her and this shows in her coat. We had a brush out and worked through a couple of small tangles in her otherwise immaculate coat. April is a little nervous in nature, but she settled on the grooming table almost immediately and we think we can go as far as say she enjoyed the session. Lots of purring ensued and April obliged throughout by offering up her arms and legs so we could comb the most intricate areas.
Macy’s coat (above right) needed more of a work through, with some clipping involved. This is because Macy isn’t really keen on mum’s comb and even with real perseverance from mum, Macy does prove a tough cookie.
Following the session, mum Francesca said :
“Thanks so much for yesterday Sandra – the girls are super happy following their most recent groom. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!”
Good to hear ! See you girls soon …!
what a position !
Have you got any piccies of yours that you can share on our facebook page … ?
We’d love to see ! Come on over …. !
tinkerbell
This little madam who lives in Blackburn, Lancashire is just 10 months old – and already thinks she’s the boss. Tinkerbell is such a gorgeous little cuddly, friendly girl. Until you tell her to do something she doesn’t want to do – like laying still for an extended grooming session.
Mum combs Tinkerbell, but her coat was quite heavily matted in those usual areas where babies don’t like to be touched !!
We split Tinkerbell’s session into 2 halves. The first session we mainly concentrated on removing the mats that had formed under her armpits and around her chest – and began the brush out underneath on the tummy. That proved enough for one session, and we resumed a couple of days later.
When we met up again, we concentrated on the lower part of her body – clipping between the inner thighs, and around the backend area. It’s fair to say that Tinkerbell (affectionately known as “Wriggle Monster” !) didn’t enjoy the session and would much rather have been anywhere else. Yes, anywhere ! Tinkerbell does like to be combed in small doses, on her terms …. However, as a Persian it’s important that she learns that brushing is part of the daily routine and must learn to tolerate it sufficiently.
A week or so after the session mum Felicity reported that all is good, and that she is being able to brush Miss Tinkerbell daily. Well done mum, keep up the good work !!
radek
We met up with Radek again – a lovely young Persian chappy from Newton Le Willows, Merseyside.
Radek’s coat is extremely full and thick, and high maintenance. Mum keeps on top of the situation, but it’s not easy and his coat was ready for a good brush out once more. A few tangles were worked through, followed by a good brush out.
He lay patiently for the most part, with a couple of episodes of restlessness during his time on the grooming table – but we won him over !
Mum Lorraine later said :
“After another session with Sandra, Radek is back to his usual handsome, happy, self. Sandra is so patient and considerate of his little ways and even when she comes to do his most troublesome areas (like tummy and back legs!!) she stays calm and professional and then I think this reflects in him. Thanks again Sandra, we look forward to next time …”
Looking mighty fine, Radek. See you soon …
coco sweetie
This young man is 10 month old Persian Coco from Liverpool. He’s only been with his new mum for about 1 month, but boy – has he fitted in, and boy – does he think he’s the boss ?!
Coco lets his mum brush on top, which is a good job as his coat is so thick and full. However, a few knots and mats had developed underneath as this is a no-go zone.
We decided to give Coco a belly clip to free him up under there and give him and mum a new start and chance of brushing as the hair regrows.
It’s fair to say that Coco was very fidgety during the session, and determined that it wasn’t going to happen. However, happen it did, and you can see from his face that as soon as we told him it was all over, he was all smiles and kisses. Lots and lots of licks – which we took as a thank you !! A real gorgeous boy, but with attitude !
Well done Coco – be good for mum !

the lovely mitzi
We called to see the lovely Mitzi again in Billinge, Greater Manchester. We think Mitzi is around 8 years old, and she is such a sweet girl.
Since Mitzi’s last grooming session her coat has almost fully regrown, and she and mum have done well to keep on top of it. There were one or two tangles and mats that needed removing, with the rest of the coat needing a thorough brush out.
As usual, Mitzi was very vocal.
However, she obviously remembered the last session and was less fidgety this time around. She doesn’t particularly like laying on her side, but once down on the grooming table was very calm and allowed us to clip under her armpits and chest without any fuss. Mum stayed with us for the session, and was able to offer some sweet talk.
Following the session, mum Sue said :
“Mitzi had her “pampering” session with Sandra and again Sandra did a wonderful job. Mitzi was groomed beautifully and thoroughly and she is obviously getting to know Sandra as there was very little fuss from her. Sandra is a very calming influence and deals with Mitzi confidently and reassuringly caring. Thank you Sandra. Mitzi sends her love too !”
Nice to see you again Mitzi. See you in a few weeks time.
gorgeous gigi
Say a big Hello to Gigi. Gigi is an 11 year old blue/cream Persian who lives with her mum in West Derby, Liverpool.
Gigi is such an affectionate lady, and likes nothing more than a few minutes brushing here and there…. but with her thick, long coat, more grooming is required – but by this point Gigi would rather be somewhere else, doing something else.
We started the session with the intention of clipping away the matted areas, and brushing out the rest. However it quickly became apparent that the better approach was to take away more of the coat to give Gigi and mum and clean start. Gigi was such a patient little girl as we worked through her coat, and we think she immediately realised what we were up to as the pelts fell away. She sat on the grooming table and watched the world go by (well, the birds in garden, anyway) whilst we got to work.
After the grooming session, mum Mandy said :
” … just had a grooming session for my beautiful Persian, Gigi. Sandra was amazing with her. I am so happy – Gigi is now free of tats and knots and looks amazing. Thank you so much”
Fantastic, Mandy. So pleased little Gigi is more comfortable and happy with her new bod !
elegant eloise
Eloise is a gorgeous 17 month old tabby Maine Coon, who lives in Blackburn, Lancashire.
She is a friendly girl, quite inquisitive and likes to play. A typical Maine Coon. Eloise is already a Large lady, so with another couple of years until maturity, she will eventually be quite hefty.
Both she and mum are able to look after Eloise’s coat very well. Just a couple of small areas underneath needed some attention with the clippers, and a brush out elsewhere. Eloise was a little fidgety, but behaved very well and now she’s feeling much more comfy.
Well done Eloise !
