beautiful bella
Here’s 7 year old British Short Hair (otherwise known as British Blue) Bella from Chorlton, Manchester.
Bella’s been with her new mum almost a year now and we’ve met up with Bella a few times over the last few months.
Bella doesn’t enjoy her sessions at all – although they have become slightly easier for her. We begin with Bella tolerating the comb a little, but she quickly becomes fed up and she’s not afraid to tell us so !
However, her thick, plush coat is always ready for a brush out and we’re hoping that over time Bella will become more accepting.
gentle hercules
We called in to meet up with Hercules in Padiham, Lancashire recently.
Hercules is a Persian and he’s around 10 months old now.
Quite a nervous boy, Hercules settled into his session whilst we worked through the pelts that had developed on his sides and underneath.
We know for sure that Hercules will be feeling so much more comfy with his lighter coat !
Well done Hercules !
sweet sansa
We caught up again with Sansa in Chorley, Lancashire. If you remember, Sansa is a Ragdoll and she’s around 18 months old.
A little bit squirmy on the grooming table, Sansa was ready for her session. A few matted areas had developed since we last saw her during the winter. We took them away, and also we decided on a Belly Clip as mum finds it difficult to comb under there.
Well done Sansa ! See you again in a few weeks time !
lovely jose
Laid back Jose in Edenfield, Lancashire was ready for his maintenance session when we called in on him recently.
Jose’s coat has grown back fully now (we clipped a significant amount of it away last Autumn) but we had to take quite a lot away again, particularly from underneath and his flanks, at this session.
Jose’s not keen on his sessions, really. At 17 years old, he’d rather not bother – thanks very much ! However, he tolerates well and spends the time looking out into his garden. Then …. straight back to bed !
fluffy micio
Micio in Blackburn, Lancashire has been ever so patient, waiting for his moment of fame ! (we’re running a little behind with the stories we’re sharing with you).
Micio is around 3 years old now and he is a Ragdoll.
Although Micio lets mum brush, a few lumps and bumps had developed which needed some attention. We brushed out where we could, and clipped away where we couldn’t.
Ever so well behaved – but Ohhhhh, what a good story teller Micio is ! We’re sure that Mrs So-and-So at number 136 heard every word ! We listened – and empathised with him at the appropriate moments.
A few days after the session, mum Louise said ”
Micio feels so much better after his groom…..much more affectionate …and loving ….You were marvelous with him …whilst freeing him from the matts. ..a cat whisperer. …Thankyou”
Great session Micio. Well done !
mr thomas
Sessions are definitely getting easier for 5 year old Thomas in Wigan, Greater Manchester. Each time we meet up, he’s a little more chilled about the whole affair.
Thomas and mum have done well keeping on top of Thomas’ coat since our last visit and today was all about a brush out.
Great session, Thomas !
little miss scruffy
It was great to be able to help Scruffy in Stretford, Manchester with her coat.
Scruffy is around 9 years old and she’s such a timid girl. So timid in fact that when she went to the vets for anaesthetic for a de-mat, they were unable to put her under. She totally lost it, due to fear.
For the first few minutes of our session, Scruffy was scared of the clippers – but she soon got used to the sound. When she then realised it didn’t hurt when the clippers touched her skin, she eased a lot.
Very fidgety throughout – and no, she wouldn’t lie down ! – but we managed to work through the pelts and make her a very much lighter, comfier girl.
After the session, mum Mary said
“Hi Sandra! Would like to say a massive thank you for the amazing job you did with Scruffy! cant thank you enough for the time and patience you showed when cutting scruffys coat! she is recovering well haha and is full of extra energy now that she has less weight on her! Will be recommending you to everyone i know! Big thanks and hugs Mary and Scruffy”
Top marks, Scruffy ! So brave !
oooh so fluffy
14 year old Fluffy from Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire called us up again recently to remind that her maintenance session was due !
We removed a few small mats from Fluffy’s tummy and armpits which had formed over the last few weeks and took the area around her rear quarters a little shorter to make life easier all round.
Fluffy was a little chatty during her session and spent some of the time checking up on what was going on on the crescent. Oooh, all so interesting out there .. !
Nice seeing you again, Fluffy !
pretty kizzy
Kizzy Whizz. Persian. Huyton. Liverpool. 7 years old. Remember Kizzy ?
It’s lovely to hear that Kizzy is a much happier young lady since we first met up with her about 18 months ago.
Kizzy naturally has the most thick, difficult to comb coat. As she didn’t like being brushed, her coat easily became matted and she no doubt felt uncomfortable with it.
Over the last 18 months, with regular sessions – and Kizzy feeling great about herself ! – Kizzy’s coat is under control and Kizzy is obviously so much more comfy.
Lovely to hear ! Nice session Kizzy !
from the sky
We caught up again with Skyfall who lives in Altrincham, Cheshire. Sky is around 3 years old now and he is, of course, a Persian. A Himalayan Persian.
How things have progressed for young Sky. The first time we met up – which was about 6 months ago – Sky really wasn’t for being brushed. He objected quite strongly and this was making it difficult for mum to keep on top of his thick coat.
Since then, with regular sessions and a daily routine from mum, Sky has learnt to accept that it’s not a choice thing ! His coat has now regrown fully and looks really well. He’s still not as keen on underneath being tended to – so he routinely has a Belly Clip – but on top ? Wow Sky ! You’re looking great !!
