fluffy dorothy
New chick on the block, Dorothy from Preston, Lancashire joined our gang recently !
Dorothy is a 2 years old Ragdoll. As such she has a semi-long fluffycoat, which actually is being well maintained by both mum and Dorothy herself.
Today, no mats in sight – just flyaway hair as Dorothy was moulting significantly. A tidgey big fidgety, but not bad Dorothy ! Well done !
the urmston chicks
As always, it was lovely to meet up with the Urmston chicks for their maintenance manicures.
Oscar looked as dapper as ever with his blue bow tie (‘specially for visitors !). The two Oriental cross girls, Florence and Tiger-Lily, were pleased to perform their party trick after their sessions. Sitting to order, for their treats. We’ll have to get some footage to show you next time.
Nice seeing everyone again !
happy herbie
It’s been quite a while since we last met up with this little fellow.
This is Herbie from Stockport, Cheshire. Herbie’s around 4 years old now and oh, how he’s changed since his last session !
Herbie’s coat has become much fuller, and he’s gained so much more confidence. Whereas previously he’d be straight under the duvet after his session, today he hung around – mostly in the doorway, but a couple of almost cheeky moments when he stuck his head back through the door. So nice to see !
A very gentle session, as expected. Nice seeing you again, Herbie !
miss muffin
Here’s a new girl for you to meet. 16 year old Muffin from Cadihead, Greater Manchester.
Muffin is a little bit deaf and blind and really doesn’t like being handled. Her coat is generally thick (maybe some Persian in there somewhere ?) and she normally goes to the vets to be shaved under anaesthetic when it gets out of control.
Today, Muffin’s coat was pelted all over. Muffin wasn’t at all pleased to find herself on the grooming table. She was extremely vocal (that was loud, Muffin !) and demonstrative, but we clipped and clipped – until there was nothing left to clip ! Most of the coat came off in one piece. As soon as the Session was over, Muffin was evidently a happier girl. Immediately washing bits she hadn’t seen for a while !
A couple of days after the Session, mum Sheila got in touch and said “What have done with Muffin ! She is a different cat. Felt the cold a little yesterday but today she has been out in the sun enjoying herself. Grooming parts she hasn’t been able to reach lately (hairball yesterday) sat on my knee last night and looking very happy with life. Thank you, see you again,”
Sheila later left a Review on our Service saying “I contacted Sandra for an appointment when my 16 year old cat badly needed de matting. I usually take her to the vets but they have to sedate her. After a few dizzy spells and a visit to vets they only removed small clumps of matting rather than sedate her. What a mess! Her hair was restricting her movements and she was very fed up. So I pinned my hopes on someone that knew what they were doing grooming wise and loved cats. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!! Sandra gave her a lion cut. No bites or scratches (well not many) NO sedation! She is acting like a 16 year old kitten and loving life again especially in this warm weather. I would recommend Sandra to any cat owner. Job well done and thank you”
Thanks so much, Sheila – and so happy for you, Muffin !
baby buster
Buster was due and ready for his maintenance clip in Chorlton, Manchester.
He’s never keen, but Buster managed to remain calm for the most part of the session. It’s that tickly underneath bit you don’t relish, eh Buster ?
gentle albie
It was time once again for Albie’s manicure session in Urmston, Manchester.
Albie (or Albert, on a Sunday) doesn’t play out as much these days, as he has an old injury to his left forepaw. This means that his nails don’t wear down as they ought.
He’s such a gentle, lovely chap. Around 8 years old – and makes no fuss about anything.
Nice seeing you again Albie !
pretty mollie
We were asked to meet up with Mollie in Tyldesley, Manchester as she needed some help with her coat.
Mollie is 15 years old now and is a very gentle girl.
Her coat had become quite pelted in various places, so it was removed for a fresh start.
Mollie was definitely a little star. She relaxed into the Session and let us get on. She really did seem to understand what was going on.
Feedback after the session from Sam, on behalf of her mum
“I can tell you that my mum was made up with how you were with Mollie, she’s so skittish but she said she was really calm and even seemed to enjoy it. The trim is more than she’s had before but was definitely needed and achieved in a much gentler way. Thanks.
gorgeous giz
It was nice to call in to see Gizmo again in Chorley, Lancashire.
Gizmo has a long, thick coat which needs some looking after as he’s now 13 years old and needs a little help.
Today’s agenda was removal of a few ad hoc lumps and bumps, followed by a good brush out to remove lots of dead hair. It’s the dead hair that, going forwards, causes the matting.
It’s fair to say that the Session wasn’t Gizmo’s idea of fun, but he humoured us and he was soon feeling so much comfier !
Here’s Gizmo after the session – sat on his favourite mat in the kitchen. This is where he sits when he wants treats !
mrs mabel
Fluffy Mabel was ready for her maintenance session when we called in on her again recently. Mabel’s 15 months old now, and lives with her mum in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
Mabel obviously remembered proceedings and today’s work through was a much less fidgety affair. A little clipping, a lot of brushing. No fuss to speak of !
A little later, a much lighter little girl … ! Well done Mabel !
Mum Diana later said
“Thanks so much for sorting out Mabel’s very fluffy coat yesterday. So much fur was removed I’m amazed I have a cat left! (Any one need any cushions stuffing?!) Mabel was so much more relaxed for this second session with you. I really can’t believe the difference. She seemed happy to be on the grooming table and was actually quite calm and chilled out. Mabel’s very happy with her ‘hair do’ and has been giving herself a few extra washes this morning as a seal of approval. Thanks again and see you soon.”
fluffy dexter
Maine Coon cross Dexter in Chorlton, Manchester was due his maintenance session recently, to take his coat back again.
Here he is, after the Session. The camera hasn’t caught his face in a smiley pose, but he always certainly is later as he’s zooming around the house !
