Say Hi to a new girl to join us : Lola from Crewe, Cheshire !

Lola is 3 years old and is a Selkirk Rex. A Selkirk Rex can be long or short haired, with a thick, plush, curly wurly coat. Lola’s coat is long and wavy, with a little more curl underneath.

Quite a shy girl. She watched cautiously from the next room whilst the stall was set up and then reluctantly found herself on the grooming table. We had a very fidgety start, with a couple of attempts to extract herself from the situation – but a very gentle girl who settled to the point we had a great brush out.

A couple of days later, mum Gail told us

“…..just to let you know that Lola’s coat is beautiful after her first grooming session last Friday it’s seems to have developed a few more curls. She spent the rest of the afternoon self grooming and the evening sleeping on my knee. Many thanks for your patience as she was vocal and very fidgety …”

Fabby ! Here’s the hair that came away – and the lady herself !

Here’s Molly Moppet from Sedbergh, Cumbria once again, after her Spring Brush Out.

A little fidgety today, with one or two low growls thrown in – but you didn’t fool us Molly Moppet. Such a lovely girl, who loves a good fuss …. and such a show off, rolling around in the sunshine afterwards ! Pleased with herself ?

Catching up with the lovely Betty in Rochdale was on the agenda recently.

Betty’s coat is short, but always ready for a good brush out. She’s really not keen, but can tolerate her Sessions a little better these days.

Nice seeing you again Betty !

We had anther great Session with Maine Coon Kiwi recently in Preston, Lancashire.

Kiwi’s quite a big boy, and he’s a friendly, gentle soul. A little bit cheeky perhaps when the mood takes him, but we didn’t see any of that during today’s Session.

Well done Kiwi !

Here’s Persian Esta in Oldham, after her latest Clip – and after her latest 10 day escape adventure !

Thankfully, she’s home non the worse for wear. Where on earth did you go little Esta ?

We called in to see Persian Poppy in Accrington, Lancashire again recently.

Poppy’s thick, cotton wooly coat had developed pelts. Poppy’s type of coat is difficult to comb, therefore Poppy doesn’t like it, so combing is difficult … and it goes from there. Therefore, the best way for Poppy is to keep her coat short.

We split today’s Session into two. The first phase of the Session, we mainly worked on Poppy’s torso and front limbs. Removing mats from lower limbs is difficult for the cat so there’s only so much can be done at once. The legs are bony and it’s quite hard going.

The second phase of the Session was 3 weeks later to work mainly around the back end and tidy up. The piccie here shows Poppy’s main torso with 3 weeks fluffy growth.

Louie felt the need to top up his tum straight after his Spring Brush Out. It’s hungry work, this grooming lark !

Mum has been keeping on top of Louie’s coat well, in Crewe, Cheshire. The difficult parts for Louie are his legs/feet, so we concentrated particularly on these areas today as they were a little clumpy.

Louie was a good boy – and it’s such a turnaround from the days when he first joined his new mum, At that point he wouldn’t tolerate a comb at all. It’s been hard work and patience, but mum has gained his trust and now he knows just what to expect – and that he can’t get away with saying No !
