miss moody
We called on 13 year old Moody again in Prescot, Merseyside as she was due her regular nail trim.
Moody knows what it is all about now. She came to say Hello, and the session was done and dusted within a couple of minutes. She then went about her business as though nothing had occurred.
Such a good girl Moody. Well done !
wow …!
Aren’t these gorgeous markings .. ?
Why not come over to our facebook page and tell us what you think ….
bonny bonnie
We’re unsure just how old this pretty girl is, who lives in Preston with her brother Clyde who was also rescued. Both babes have landed on their feet and found a really caring home.
Bonnie is a short haired girl, and our services were called upon to rid her of excess hair she was shedding. Bonnie likes attention and once she’d settled on the table we think she really began to enjoy the 1:1.
After the session, mum Nats said :
“Purrrrfect service: Yesterday, Sandra came round to work her magic on Bonnie, who is a rescue cat. I was worried how Bonnie would behave and feel as she had never been groomed before. Sandra was lovely and Bonnie warmed to her straight away, which was reassuring. Throughout the session Sandra spoke to Bonnie in a lovely calming manner and on hearing Bonnie meow’ing her reply it was me who was smiling like a Cheshire Cat. After the session I could not believe how relaxed Bonnie was and how different she looked! (Bonnie had the dry bath treatment). I highly recommend Essentially Purrfect – Sandra is very knowledgeable of cats and recommended a brush for me to use of Bonnie’s fur (which she sheds a lot!!!!) …. Thank you for a fantastic serivce. Thanks for calling us in Nats, it was nice meeting the little lady !
lovely mildred
This young Persian lady was taken in by mum and dad just a few months ago, and has obviously settled in well in her new home. She is just so relaxed and confident – and nosey !
We held the grooming session upstairs and she had no hesitation but to come upstairs with us of her own accord and investigate all our equipment. We actually thought she might get on the table and lay down too !
Mildred’s coat is in good condition, but was a little clumpy in parts and needed a thorough brush out to relieve it of lots of dead hair. This was Mildred’s first professional groom and she behaved like a little angel.
After the session – well, what can we say except Mildred helped with the clearing up. Such a good girl !
Mum Jenny later said :
“Just want to say thank you so much for Mildred’s first ever professional groom. She is much more comfortable now after removing the mats. I am so glad I chose to use Sandra as the high level of professionalism and care that went into the groom was fantastic. I would not hesitate to use Sandra again and will most definitely be recommending her services to others! Again thank you very much for putting Mildred at ease during the whole service!”
Thanks so much, Jenny …. It was nice to work with Mildred and so pleased she is happy !
how is your hearing ?
Humans and cats have a similar range of hearing on the low end of the scale, but cats can hear much higher-pitched sounds than we can.
The cat is able to swivel its ears to listen out for a sound and the ears can independently point backwards as well as forwards and sideways to pinpoint the source.
girlie girlie
Girlie is a short haired tabby of around 14 years old who lives in Liverpool, Merseyside. She is a friendly girl, and greeted us with some affection.
Her coat is very thick and dense – like a British Short Hair – and had become clumpy in parts. Girlie doesn’t like being brushed anymore, and is pretty feisty with it ! She has arthritis which may account for some of her grumpiness !
The coat is thickest down her back and hips/thighs. We spent time working down from her neck, teasing out clumps, thinning her coat, and clipping off the worst of the mats. Girlie didn’t enjoy the attention, but was happy enough after the session relaxing on her sofa.
… and to see her piccie, butter wouldn’t melt …!
thirsty or not ?
The volume of drinking water needed by an individual cat each day varies according to its size, the weather and if their diet includes wet food, or is dry food only. Also, diseases like hyperthyroidism, diabetes and kidney disease all substantially increase the need.
If needed, one way to get cats to drink more is to provide running water – in the form of a running tap, or a drinking fountain perhaps – which is naturally enticing to many cats.
india and mylo
We called again on these 2 beauties in Lostock, Bolton, to clip their nails. They are both house cats, so their nails don’t wear down as much as if they played outside.
India and Mylo are 9 years old and are both timid in nature. However, they both obviously remembered their last session and it was noticeable that they weren’t as anxious this time around.
Well done both of you ! Really brave !
feeling the heat ?
Cats don’t feel heat as quickly as we do – for example a paw on an oven ring – so can be burnt before they realise there’s a problem
lovely matty
This sweet little Persian girl has been with her new mum and dad for just around 1 month, and has really settled in well. There’s not too much known about Matty’s past, but she has been through it and has had to have her left eye removed. We think she is about 5 years old, with just 4 teeth remaining.
Matty is allowing mum to comb, but not underneath. We spent time working through her (curly-ish) tummy hair – and were able to tease out all the tangles that had developed, which was pleasing.
Matty was a little grumbly during the session, but afterwards was all purrs and head rubs. She knew what it had been about, and was feeling better about herself already. She settled on the back of the sofa and lazily watched as we set about clearing up.
Following the session, mum Kay from Lytham St Annes, Lancashire told us :
“We think your Service is fantastic. Matty can get angry when she is being groomed, but you managed to keep her calm. We are very pleased with the results – and so is Matty. She is a clean cat anyway, but has certainly been grooming her face more and she’s not scratching like she was, where the tats were bothering her”.
Thanks Kay – and nice to meet you Matty ! So pleased that you’ve found a caring home.
