princess puddes
It was so nice to meet up with 15 year old Princess the Persian in Alderley Edge, Cheshire again.
Over the last couple of weeks ago, Princess hasn’t been too well but we’re pleased to say that she’s picked up tremendously. It’s important that Princess’ coat is kept short as she’s had previous problems with hairballs. So we meet up every few weeks to keep on top of it.
Today, Princess knew the drill. She is well used to the sessions and although she’d rather be doing something else, she managed to stay still and calm for a time – although she did tell us a right tale !
Well done Princess … Keep up with the good work !
gorgeous milly
This little lady is a gorgeous Ragdoll who lives with her mum in Ripponden, Yorkshire. Milly’s a sweet, shy little girl – but she does like affection.
Milly obviously remembered our last session and lay contently on the grooming table whilst we set about a brush out of her extremely thick coat ! Both mum and Milly have done well keeping on top of it, but it was well in need of a good thinning out. Just one or 2 tangles were removed followed by a good comb.
Milly’s very amenable, but not that keen on her armpits being worked through. We had a good chat. Well, we chatted and Milly listened. She also listened – and we think, enjoyed – the soothing music that we played for her.
A lot of hair came away, as you can see in the piccie above, and there’s no doubt that Milly will feel much better for it. After the session, mum Abby said :
“Thanks a lot for seeing Milly again. She seems happier now she’s a little lighter !! x”
Well done Milly …. You were such a good girl !
smiley luigi
We recently had another pleasing session with Luigi – an Exotic semi-long hair who lives in Windermere, Cumbria.
It’s only a matter of weeks since we last met up but already Luigi’s thick coat was in need of a good brush out. No mats or clumps in sight, just verrrrry thick.
Luigi is a quiet, nervous guy by nature but each session is noticeably easier for him. Today he lay contently, with eyes closed for most of the time. There’s the usual naughty places that he’s not keen on being touched – ie. his rear quarters and back legs – but we got through that okay and back to a smiling Luigi !
Keeping your cat’s skin and coat in good condition is an important part of boosting health and wellbeing. Brushing stimulates the skin to produce essential oils and helps to remove dead cells. Luigi has been privy to regular sessions for the last 18 months and this definitely shows in his coat. It looks shiny and lush.
Well done, our friend Luigi. See you again soon …
pretty zoe
Zoe is 4 years old. She is a large Maine Coon and she hangs out in Weston, Crewe with her dad and feline housemates. Earlier this year Zoe was diagnosed with severe heart problems, therefore it’s vital that she remains stress free. Therefore, we decided that a home grooming session would be the way forward for Zoe.
Well, we had a lovely session ! Zoe’s coat is very full and long. She allows dad to comb and this showed in her coat as there were just one or 2 tangles hidden away in there.
Zoe was very amenable during the session. She was vocal – but we figured it was just chat. The more we spoke to her, the more she responded. When we were quiet, so was she. We had a thorough brush out underneath and Zoe was very obliging – stretching out her limbs at the appropriate moment to help . She really didn’t mind and on the sly we think she enjoyed the most part of the session !
Well done Zoe ! You were a star !
tiny tess
Say Hi again to 21 year old Tess who lives in Wigan, Greater Manchester.
Over the past 18 months or so, we’ve met up with Tess on a fairly regular basis. Today, her coat was the best we’ve seen it so far in terms of its condition. It really is benefitting from a good brush out and once over to keep her in good shape.
Although Tess is 21 (amost 22 !), you won’t get one over on her ! Since we first met up, and is obviously feeling better about herself and her coat, she has regained her mojo and is once again the boss of her house and housemate !
Today was all about a brush out. Virtually no knots or tangles to speak of – which was fantastic ! Tess wasn’t happy to find herself on the grooming table again, but her behaviour was the best we’ve ever since. She managed to lay quite calmly whilst we got to work underneath, followed by a good brush out elsewhere.
Really pleasing ! Well done Tess, we know you feel so much better for it afterwards …
our friend radek
It was nice to meet up with our Radek again, recently. Radek is a 6 year old Persian who lives with his mum in Newton Le Willows, Merseyside.
Radek has a very thick, long coat. The underneath (tummy etc) is currently quite short due to clipping. Having discussed this with mum we feel it may be prudent to keep it this way, to help reduce tangling in this area. Radek’s not that keen on brushing under there, so this will help get around this point.
We began the session, brushing underneath with Radek laid on his favourite side. He much prefers to lay on his left ! No real tangles or knots to worry about today, just a good brush out was in order.
Radek was very still and relaxed during parts of the session. He lay with his eyes closed, almost snoring at one point which was quite amusing. However, he came around when we touched on his rear quarters and back feet. Radek’s really not keen on attention to this parts.
After the session, mum Lorraine said :
“We’ve just had another fab session with Sandra and Radek is back to his usual gorgeous self. Although he can sometimes be a tricky customer, Radek was relaxed and calm throughout. At one point we thought he’d fallen asleep !! Once again, thanks Sandra – patient and calming as always, a miracle worker x “
A pleasing session, and Radek’s coat looked so well afterwards. Well done Radek !
bonny blossom
This is the first time we’d met up with Blossom in Chipping, Lancashire.
Blossom is a pretty, 4 year old Himalayan. Himalayans are Persians, crossed with Siamese. The Himalayan stood as a separate breed until the ’80s, when it was merged with the Persian. Now it’s sometimes called the ‘Himalayan Persian’ or cat fanciers know them as ‘Himmies’.
Blossom’s long coat was moutling around the house, so the session was to clip her coat short to solve this problem.
She was a little fidgety to begin with, but settled and was amenable to laying on her sides for access to her under carriage area.
A little talkative at times, Blossom was a good girl and knew just what was going on. We think she liked the soothing cat music that was offered to her during her session.
Well done Blossom !
handsome ollie
Who remembers this handsome young man from Liverpool ?
Ollie is around 3.5 years old, and lives with his mum and his housemates Poppy and Snoopy. He is the most gentle boy you can meet and on the quiet, he does love a bit of fuss on the grooming table.
We last saw Ollie at the end of the summer. Today, his coat was again ready for a good brush out but no clipping was required ! Although the coat was very thick and beginning to get a little clumpy, Ollie is very tolerant of the comb and therefore we were able to work through and tease out and small clumps. We took away a substantial amount of dead hair. Really pleasing !
Ollie was very amenable during the session and laid quietly and calmly. He is quite a big boy, and as we said his coat is thick, so it took some time.
Afterwards – Ollie looked stunning. His coat is the healthiest it’s every looked and we think that Ollie knows this ! He sauntered off – out in the back garden for the toilet – then was back indoors having a well earned dinner and rest !
Well done Ollie ! Such a good boy (as usual) …. !
january appointment, anyone ?
Now, we know it’s still only November – but we’re already needing to work on the January diary.
As usual, we’ll be getting in touch shortly with exisiting customers who we think may want a Jan maintenance appointment. However, if you see this message first and this applies to you, can you please get in touch to schedule in.
Prevention is better than cure ! Thanks !
hercules champion
Each time we see Hercules Champion in Kirkham, Lancashire he looks more and more radiant.
Hercules Champion is now 15 years old – which is a fair age for a Maine Coon. He was suffered from ill health over recent years and has been pretty poorly at times. However, today mum reported him being well, he’s obviously put a little weight on and he looks happy and content.
We had a gentle session. We worked on a few knotty areas and had a good brush out. Hercules would always rather be either asleep, or playing out, but we think he knows that he always feels better after his grooming session.
After today’s session, his coat looked particularly well. It looked full, fluffy and even. The best we’ve seen to date. As well as removing dead hair and mats from the coat, regular brushing stimulates the skin to produce oil and removes dead cells and is an important aspect of health and wellbeing.
After the session, mum Gerry said :
“Hercules Champion is looking extremely well ! His coat looks lovely and his is very happy”
Hercules Champion is reaping the rewards of his sessions ! You’re looking very handsome, Hercules Champion !!
