ginger sam
This handsome lad is Sam from Chorley, Lancashire.
Although Sam is short haired, it was extremely thick and clumpy down his back and sides. Sam wouldn’t let mum and dad touch these spots, so it was impossible for them to make a difference.
Our approach was to clip away areas which couldn’t easily be brushed out – as Sam wasn’t the most patient of chaps. He was very vocal, and it is fair to say that he wasn’t keen on the grooming idea !
However, now he is clump free he will definitely feel much better about himself and the hair will grow back beautifully.
our radek
We recently saw another little favourite boy of ours. A few months ago Radek had some of his coat clipped away, but now it’s all grown back beautifully.
Radek is a Persian, and he has such a thick, long coat. Both Radek and mum Lorraine from Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside have really kept on top of the grooming and Radek was tangle free. We gave his coat a real good brush out to thin it out and remove the dead undercoat.
Radek was very calm and not only patient – some of the positions he put himself into really helped ! Flat on his back, with 4 legs in the air, of his own accord ….
We really should have got a photo of that ! Maybe next time ? ….. watch this space !
the shah
Who’s the boss ? A delightful 15 month old Persian, that’s who !
Our Services were called upon to work through the Shah’s coat. We clipped some areas away that couldn’t be saved, and brushed out the rest. Although the Shah loves his dad to brush him, he wasn’t as keen on our clippers. However – overall – the Shah did really well.
What he did love however, was his photo being taken afterwards …. Quite the little poser ! Here he is investigating what he’d missed whilst being inside – and playing in the sunshine, after his session.
Later, dad Tony from Little Hulton, Salford, Greater Manchester said :
“Sandra came round today, for her second visit to the SHAH. He can be very self opinionated, but she did a really good job with him. He is a long haired Persian who rules my house, but she had the knack of working with him and although he tried to fight, she was really calm with him at all times and left him back with me totally stress free. He has booked in for another grooming before Christmas. Thank you Sandra”
….. and here is the Shah in his recently acquired cat house ….. he’s just checking it out !
A real pleasure to work with the young man, Tony. Looking forward to our next visit already !
cheeky charlie
Meet Charlie. At around 2 years old he’s quite a solid young man, with a big attitude ! He’s been with his current mum about a month, and obviously now thinks he is in charge of the household !
Charlie is an indoor cat and his nails were in need of attention. As far as we know, this was the first time Charlie had had them trimmed, and it’s fair to say he didn’t think highly of the situation. However, a few Dreamies helped along the way …
herbie and jasper
These 2 beauties are 1 year old Herbie (white) and Jasper (tabby), who is almost 3 years. Both lovely, mild mannered boys who enjoy mum combing them each day. You really can tell, as their coats were lovely and knot free. They just needed a good comb through to rid them of excess dead undercoat.
Herbie’s coat is so silky and although a little nervous to begin with, with mum’s cuddles and sweet talk, he calmed and lay patiently whilst we worked through his coat.
Jasper’s coat is much thicker and he really did loose an enormous amount of hair … His tummy will really benefit and no doubt he will feel so much better in himself. Here he is – relaxing and smiling away – after his groom.
Here on the left is the dead hair that came away from Jasper’s coat.
A few days later, mum Claire from Stockport, Greater Manchester said :
“It was their first time being groomed and they had both had a fairly stressful week with Jasper having an overnight stay at the vets due to poor breathing. Needless to say they were both fairly anxious and Jasper proved a little difficult to handle. I’d like to say thank you for your perseverance with him, he is now much happier and calmer and his breathing is back to normal with without all that excess fluff. Herbie looks as though he’s been washed in Daz he’s so white ! Once again thank you for your professional approach and attention to detail. I look forward to seeing you soon.”
Thanks for the feedback, Claire … Can’t wait to see your boys again !
sweet as soda
Soda from Blackburn, Lancashire is a handsome 11 month old Ragdoll cross who had developed a few tangles under his armpits, and on his tummy/trousers. We clipped away what couldn’t be saved. The rest of his coat was in tip top condition as mum regularly brushes him through.
It’s fair to say that Soda was a little fidgety – think he’d rather have been playing out with his brother Whiskey – but we’re sure he’ll reap the rewards and feel much better from the session.
Look at that fantastic tail ! ……..
naughty and pb
A couple of our favourite babes here – Naughty (black and white) and PB (aka Pretty Boy).
Both quickly settled into their session, remembering from last time what it’s all about. Although Naughty is short haired and is groomed regularly, she lost a lot of dead undercoat during the session. PB’s hair is much longer. We teased out some small tangles and gave him a serious brush out.
Both are bound to feel so much better after their grooms. Well done Naughty and PB ! See you again soon ….
pretty pat
This handsome Persian called us in to give his coat a real good work through. Some mats and tangles were clipped away, and the rest of him benefitted from losing lots of dead undercoat.
Together with a nail trim, his eyes and ears cleaned, he’s feeling much happier about himself now.
The session took some time as his coat was so thick – but apart from the odd grumble, Pat behaved very well indeed.
Mum Barbara from Blackpool, Lancashire later said :
“Delighted with the job that you did for Pat. He’s a happy kitty again and, despite a couple of necessary bald patches, he looks wonderful. More importantly, you were kind and patient with him and went above and beyond spending hours to make sure his coat’s matt free. Thank you 🙂 “
Thanks so much for the feedback Barbara, it’s great to hear that Pat is happy with his new bod !
little vera
Vera is a 2 year old, black smoke coloured, Siberian. Such a pretty little girl – and so sweet with it.
She was a little fidgety to begin with, but once laid on her side she settled and allowed us to work through a few tangles and knotted areas – and brush out the rest of her coat.
Overall, Vera behaved very well !
After the session, mum Jill from Manchester said :
“Vera may be a pedigree Siberian, but I don’t think she knows it, as she comes back with all kinds of foliage in her fur when she’s out hunting. Over time, it became matted and difficult to brush, and she ended up rather scruffy. Sandra managed to get all her tangles out and she’s now feeling a lot happier and more relaxed. I was impressed with the professional way Sandra worked. Her equipment and skilful handling of Vera meant she could groom her quickly and with minimum discomfort”
Well done Vera – We’re sure you got that treat that was promised !
The cheshire gang !
We recently saw some of our favourite girls and boys again ….. Tilly (bottom right), Susie (bottom left), Georgie (red) and Harvey (grey).
Three rather handsome Norwegian Forests who are delightfully gentle – and Harvey the inquisitive Maine Coon ! We’re sure he’s grown even more since our last visit just a matter of weeks ago (when he was around 21 lbs / 9.5 kg) !
Following the sessions, mum Sue from Davenham, Cheshire said :
“Thanks for the care and attention you showed to my four cats – Harvey is very mischievous and you were very patient with him. Great service”
It was lovely to see the gang again, Sue … they’re a credit to you !
