pretty poppy

Poppy, a beautiful 9 years old lady from Padiham, Lancashire happily let us call again to clip her nails.  Mum Jackie knew it was time for a trim as they could be heard on the wooden floor.  It sounded like Poppy had her high heels on !

Although Poppy is quite an anxious girl, just like our last visit, she took the session totally in her stride – without batting an eyelid.  We think she know just what it was all about !

Well done Poppy – see you again soon …

chloe and sophie

Say Hi to two of our favourite girls – Chloe and Sophie from Knutsford, Cheshire.

Both around 15 years old, they gave us a call as they were due their maintenance groom.  Although it’s only a matter of weeks since our last visit, their coats were thick once again and ready for a good brush out.   Sophie’s coat is short, but very dense – whilst Chloe’s is long and fluffy.

illy and milo

We called on these 2 handsome Siamese boys in Oswaldtwistle, Lancs to trim their nails.

Illy (left) and Milo are very friendly chaps, but it’s fair to say they are not too keen on the nail trimming process.  However, they faired well – a definite improvement on the last session.  Each visit will become a little easier for them.

So well done Illy and Milo !  You were really brave boys, and we’ll see you again soon.

betsy boo

We called on this 3 year old chick, to take a look at her coat.  Betsy Boo has been with her mum and dad for a couple of years, and from the stories we heard about her, she’s a right little character.  She even has her own Facebook page !

Mum does brush Betsy, but we don’t think she’s been professionally groomed before.  It’s fair to say that she really didn’t care for having her nails clipped – Betsy would have rather been somewhere else, with someone else !  However, we moved on and after we had then clipped away the first tight mat from under the armpit, Betsy began to settle and resigned herself to the session somewhat.  As the session went on, we think she realised it wasn’t that bad … and maybe she even wondered what all the fuss had been about !    Or maybe (as she is renowned for being an escape artist extraordinaire) she was miffed that she hadn’t been able to outdo us, and leave the table !

After the session, mum Jill from Wythenshawe, Manchester said :

“Betsy is a very happy little girl right now! Giving lots of cuddles so I think she’s pleased!!!!  Thanks for being so patient with her! You are fabulous!”

You look lovely, Betsy Boo …  Glad you’re feeling more comfy with your coat !

figment of the imagination

This little lass is going on for 21 years old !  That’s right.  21 years old !

Figment is a Persian Cross, and she needed some help with mats that had formed – particularly about her back, bum and lower body.  The mats were very close to the skin and Figment did really well whilst we clipped away.   She will feel so much more comfortable now.

Later, mum Christine and dad Andy from Bolton, Greater Manchester told us :

“Hi Sandra, thank you so much for your wonderful grooming service. You showed so much care to our very matted 20 year old cat and treated her as if she was one of your own. She is like a spring chicken now she is free of knots. xx”

Well done Figment … So glad you called us in !

timid tomas

We’ve recently visited one of our favourite chaps, Tomas – who is 12 years old and lives in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire.

Quite a timid boy, but he obviously remembered the last session and was much more settled this time around.  The hair that we’d clipped away at the last visit was well on it’s way to growing back and his coat was in a lovely condition, as Tomas lets his mum brush him.

We think that the cat relaxation music we played helped to chill a little. Tomas had his eyes closed during parts of the session whilst we were brushing, and looked like he was almost dropping off.

Well done Tomas – it was lovely seeing you again, and looking forward to next time already !

who’s having a laugh ?

Here is a really striking piccie, sent to us by mum Jo, of Illy and Milo – 2 Siamese customers of ours.  What lovely teeth you have Illy !

bella the beauty

We called on this pretty young lady, to help her with a few knots that had developed in her coat and a full brush out before winter arrives.

Bella is quite an anxious girl but she soon warmed, and was very friendly with her head rubs !  We worked through and removed some small areas with the clippers – which didn’t phase Bella one bit – followed by the brush and combs.  Bella was a little fidgety, but overall she behaved very well for her first session.

Mum Sam from Golborne, Wigan later said :

“My cat Bella was groomed today, first time in 7 years (exceptional circumstances I’m not a bad mum really). Sandra was friendly, professional and went all out to gain Bella’s confidence. I now have a content little girl who’s coat looks better than it has in a long time. Thanks!

Well done Bella, you’ll feel so much more comfy now ….

mr le shah

We were delighted to see one of our favourite fellows again recently … the Shah, from Salford, Manchester.

It’s around 10 weeks since we last saw him, and at the point we took away some mats that had formed around the back and lower parts of the Shah’s body.  Today it was very pleasing to see the hair growing back so beautifully, and totally knot free.

Dad Tony has been doing such a good job – not only keeping on top of the Shah’s coat, but also working with him to make him understand that it’s a job that just has to be done.  The Shah’s patience and tolerance level today was much improved on his last session.

Well done the Shah !  We’d tell you that you’re a handsome boy – but we think you already know !  See you again soon ….

hercules champion

Hercules Champion is a very handsome 14 year old Maine Coon.

He isn’t used to being groomed, so he behaved very well as he let us work on those hard to reach areas – tummy/bum/flanks – where knots had developed.  After the session mum rewarded  him with his favourite tuna !

A few days later, mum Gerry from Kirkham, on the Fylde, Lancashire told us :

“Since Hercules Champion had his groom and mats taken away, you can tell from his face that he is chuffed as anything !  Hercules is 14 years old, but he now looks at least 4 or 5 years younger.  He has now reverted to his cheeky kitten behaviour and is cock of the north again !   Hercules is doing a lot more grooming and he definitely is appreciating me more.  I am really happy that we called in EssentiallyPurrfect to sort out his coat.”

Nice to work with you Gerry and Hercules Champion, and looking forward to our next visit already !
