little millie
This little lass has been with her new family in Old Trafford, Manchester for just a couple of weeks. She has joined an animal enthused family – and has fallen on her feet !
Meet 5 year old Millie, who is the most beautiful Exotic Shorthair. At the time of the groom we weren’t sure if Millie was about to have a litter … She needed to go back to the vets the following week for another examination. We now know she wasn’t.
Millie’s coat had developed tufts or clumps, around her body – particularly on her back end, around her legs and sides. She was the most calm, sweet little girl, whilst we brushed out the clumps and made her feel more comfortable. Only a couple of stubborn mats on her trouser and top flank needed clipping away.
After the session, mum Lynn told us :
“Millie was in poor condition when she came to us from an ex-breeder and looked much older than her 5 years. Our vet recommended having her clipped, saying her fur was too badly matted to brush out. However, after an hour with Sandra she looks like a new woman ! Sandra not only managed to save almost all of her fur but also took years off her age. Thank you Sandra for revealing our beautiful young cat”
Such a good girl Mille – well done, and nice photo shoot ! You could take up modelling … !
our moody
Moody is a most gorgeous, friendly Burmese who lives in Prescot, Merseyside. At 14 years old, Moody doesn’t play out that much anymore, preferring to watch life pass by from the comfort of her settee.
Fit, healthy cats that spend a lot of time outside generally naturally wear down their claws sufficiently.
However, indoor or elderly cats may need to have their claws trimmed regularly. Also, some cats have an extra toe (polydactyl) which doesn’t touch the ground (just like the normal dew claw) and may overgrow. If overgrown claws aren’t trimmed they can grow inwards into the pad and can be painful, and become infected.
We call on Moody every few weeks for a pedicure (trim her nails !). Moody is quite used to the sessions now, and it’s over and done with in a couple of minutes no fuss.
… I want your attention !
How do your little ones get your attention when they want something ?
Come over to our facebook page and tell us. Or even better, show us by uploading a piccie if you can ….
sophie and chloe
We called on these 2 chicks in Knutsford, Cheshire once again for their maintenance grooms.
Both Sophie (a Blue Silver Spotted British Short Hair) and Chloe (Blue and White Persian) are well used to their sessions now, and know just what to expect. Both girls are around 16-17 years old, and like to take life a bit easier these days.
Sophie’s coat is short, but extremely dense and becomes clumpy if she isn’t brushed out regularly. Chloe, being a Persian, has a long thick coat. Mum Dorothy is able to brush Chloe on top, but underneath and around the back legs is a bit more difficult as Chloe’s not that keen on being touched around those areas.
Well done girls … See you again soon ….
hurry … book now !
Our May 14 diary is filling up so quickly …
We’ll be checking in with some existing customers anyway, around the start of May. However, if you see this message first and will need a maintenance appointment during May, please get in touch to schedule in sooner rather than later … then you’ll be smiling all the way, like Jasper here !
cheeky monkey
It was so nice to meet up with Monkey again in Clitheroe, Lancashire.
We last saw him during the Autumn which he needed help with removal of mats around his lower body. Since then, mum and Monkey have been able to well keep on top of his coat. Regular brushing sessions have kept the mats at bay.
Monkey is such a sweet boy and came and greeted us like an old friend. He obviously remembered the last session and settled immediately on the table. One or two swear words at times, maybe ? – but quite chilled, obliging with the positioning of his limbs, and even purring at times.
After the session he kept popping back into the room where we’d held the session – just checking we were on track with clearing up and seeing if we needed any help !
Following the session, mum Sue said :
“Thank you for coming again to comb through Monkey’s fur. I’m sure he remembered you from your first visit seven months ago. He was much more relaxed this time and actually (apart from a bit of growling!) seemed to enjoy it. He has been very pleased with himself since ! He is grooming himself more and seems very content. His fur grows so long and thickly that it is hard for us both to keep up with it, but I’ve been amazed at the difference that your grooming makes ! Thank you so much ! See you again in the autumn !”
Keep up the good work guys and see you again later in the year for an Autumn brush out.
tiny vera
Vera is a 3 year old Black Smoke Siberian who lives in Manchester.
Vera was as friendly as ever when we met up again with her this time around. We’d been called in again to meet up because she had developed some matted areas around her body, which were in need of being clipped away.
She was quite fidgety for most of the session – Vera isn’t too keen on being groomed at the best of times – but interspersed with moments of peace !
Well done Vera. We’re sure you’ll feel much comfier with your new little bod !
is yours a typist ?
Every time we leave the laptop unattended for a few minutes, when we return to is it’s either in Flight Mode, or some little feet has been trying to access an obscure website (like this one on the right !).
Will have to start closing the lid down, so little paws can’t walk all over the keyboard !
Do yours type too ?
What is the weirdest / funniest thing they have written ….? Come over to our facebook page and tell us !
lovely merlin
This handsome young man is 18 month old Merlin. Merlin is a Tabby Maine Coon who lives in Abram, Wigan, Greater Manchester.
We called in to see Merlin as his coat had become thick and in need of a good brush out, with a couple of small tangles that needed to be removed.
Merlin – Well, what can we say. Such a mild mannered, gentle, friendly young man. He was inquisitive around our gear and helped somewhat with the set-up. He’s not had a professional groom before and it took him a good while to settle into the session. However, once there, we think he really began to enjoy it ! He had his head laid on the table, purring away whilst we brushed (we had done the naughty bits – tummy/flanks/back end – by this point) and nearing the end of the session he actually licked our fingers. A thank you !
Afterwards, Merlin went to top up at the filling station, then out for a wander in the garden.
Following the session, mum Leanne told us :
“Thank you so much for Merlin’s groom on Saturday. A large Maine Coon boy, he’s not the most patient cat and really appreciate the time and effort involved. He looks fab and obviously feels much better as a result.”
Nice to meet you Merlin – Such a good boy …. !
do you need more ?
Hands up if you can relate to this ?!
