oscar and toulouse
These 2 handsome Seal Point Persians are 8 years old, and live in Heywood, Rochdale, Greater Manchester. Both are large boys, with extremely thick coats.
We worked with Toulouse first, and began combing underneath (piccie on left).
Toulouse wasn’t keen on the session but managed to be patient for a good while, whilst we got to work. Although his coat was thick, it was all brushable, and a great deal of hair came away. He was a little bit grumpy by the end of the session, but no doubt feels lighter and more comfy now.
Oscar’s coat was much thicker and heavier, with matting underneath and around the armpit areas. We began clipping underneath to remove what couldn’t be saved, but the end result was a mini belly clip – basically a strip almost down the middle. We then began to brush out his flanks and lower back. As his coat was so thick, this proved enough for one session as it was evident that Oscar was becoming more fidgety. We resumed the brush out a few days later and now we’re sure that Oscar is feeling much comfier with his new bod !
Well done boys … Nice meeting you, and you look so gorgeous !!

macy
We called in to see Macy in Manchester again recently. Macy is a most gorgeous 2 year old Maine Coon and as such has a long coat which needs some working through.
Since our last visit, a matter of weeks ago, it was good to hear that Macy has become a little more tolerant of her grooming sessions with mum. We worked through Macy’s coat with little fuss, whilst Macy relaxed to the gentle cat music in the background. At the last session we had clipped some hair away and today it was growing back nicely.
After the session, mum Francesca did us proud by presenting us with a lovely bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine from herself and the girls (we groom Macy’s housemate too – April).
Thanks so much girls – really appreciated ! … and you look so fine, Macy !
catching the rays …
Have your little ones been catching the rays this weekend ?
We got home from a grooming session at teatime to find our 3 all positioned quite precisely on the bed … just the right spots for catching the last of the sunbeams which were falling into the bedroom !
Have you any piccies of yours enjoying the sun, that you could let us have a look at ? Come on – Upload them on our Facebook page. Don’t be shy !!
herkie kerkie
What do you think about 15 year old Maine Coon Hercules Champion in Kirkham, Lancashire’s new name ? … Herkie Kerkie. Well, it made us laugh anyway.
We had a really nice session with Hercules Champion today. We last saw him a few weeks ago, and it was nice to see that the mats had been kept at bay and we didn’t need the clippers. Just a gentle brush out to work through a few mild tangles, mainly underneath.
We played some soothing music during today’s session, and Hercules Champion LOVED it. He obliged by stretching out limbs – even his back leg, which he normally doesn’t like being touched. Wow ! That is a breakthrough !
Hercules Champion has some arthritis around his joints so we took the session easy, at his speed.
Following the session, mum Gerry said :
“Just about to phone you to say how people have admired him again [following the grooming session]. The difference in him is unbelievable ….Can’t thank you enough xx”
Well done Herkie Kerkie ! You were such a good boy ….
quiet saffy
We called in on Saffy again, in Stockport, Cheshire to clip her nails.
Saffy is a most gentle, timid 14 year old girl. Although she was nervous of the session we think she remembered from last time, as she was evidently less anxious this time around.
It’s important that as your cat gets older you keep a check on nails to make sure they are not overgrown, or ingrown (grown right into the pad).
Well done Saffy ! See you again in due course …
wow !….
Wow … What a lucky puddy cat !
Where can we get one of these, please … ?
Would you fancy one ? Why not come over to our facebook page and tell us what you think …
mr red
We called in to see Red again in Smallwood, Cheshire as he was due his maintenance groom.
Red is a 1 year old Siberian, and quite a big lad. When we arrived for our morning session, Red was flaked out on his cushion as he’d been out gallivanting all night. See the piccie on the left of Red, before his session. He looked shattered .. it must have been a good night out !
Red’s coat is really beginning to grow back nicely now (we clipped away significant areas back in February). When we met up again in March, Mum had been able to comb, and today again in May, Red was knot free. Fantastic ! We had a good brush through to work through a few small tangles, and remove dead hair from his coat.
We played some soothing music for Red, and think he enjoyed listening whilst he was laid on the grooming table. After the session, Red looked bright eyed and bushy-tailed … and went off again into the garden to check out what he’d been missing.
Well done Red … Such a good boy and see you again in a few weeks time …
through the good and the bad …
These 2 chicks will have seen a lot together over the years !
Do you have any piccies of yours – when they were little ones, and how they look today ?
Why not come over to our facebook page and let us all admire … !
lovely lemmy
Meet Lemmy.
Lemmy is such a sweet 2 year old boy who lives in Blackburn, Lancashire. His Distinguishing Mark – as noted on his grooming card – is “Super Cute”.
We were asked to call to help Lemmy with a few mats that had developed on his sides, and around his rear end. Lemmy wasn’t afraid of the clippers as we set to work on his sides. However, he wasn’t as keen while we were working around his rear. Some sweet talk from mum helped distract him whilst we got to work.
After the clipping, we brushed out the remaining hair, which Lemmy didn’t mind at all. In fact, he loved his ruff, head, neck being combed. He sat quite proud with his chin in the air. He obviously knows he is handsome !
Good boy Lemmy – well done – you’ll feel so much more comfy now …
