pretty girl kiki
Say Hi to Kiki. She is a most beautiful 2 year old Ragdoll who lives in Wilmslow, Cheshire with her dad. Look at those piercing blue eyes !
Dad got in touch with us for a brush out as Kiki was moulting a lot and leaving hair around the house.
When we met up, Kiki’s coat was certainly extremely full and thick. This was Kiki’s first professional groom and she made it plain that she wasn’t keen on the idea and it took her a while to settle on the table. We took away a lot of dead hair from her coat, so she must now be feeling much lighter about herself.
Following the session, dad Justin said :
“I’m very happy with the service and Kiki was like a new cat afterwards and no more hair on the carpets! Have booked again for every 3-4 moths, and highly recommend Sandra”
We often find that sessions get easier. At the next session, Kiki will know just what to expect and her tolerance level should be greater.
Kiki then helped us clear up (!) and was full of head rubs and affection. A Thank You from the girl herself .. !
could you be molly’s new mum or dad ?
Do you remember the lovely Molly in Manchester ?
We groomed 7 year old Molly a few weeks ago as, although her coat is short and wasn’t matted, she was shedding a lot of hair. Molly is a very friendly girl, loves attention and loves being combed !
Through no fault of her own, Molly is looking for a new home. Circumstances mean that dad isn’t able to look after Molly, although he loves her dearly.
Do you think you could be Molly’s new mum or dad ? If so, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch !
due a september appointment .. ?
We’re looking at the Sep diary at the moment, which is filling up alarmingly quickly ….
Please –
If you’re due a maintenance groom in Sep (that’s Sep, not Aug) please get in touch to schedule in now, if you see this message.
Thanks !
miss cleo
This gorgeous tabby Maine Coon lives in Liverpool, and is 2 year old Cleo. It’s a shame that all the piccies we took are a little blurry.
Cleo needed some help with her coat which had developed quite extensive matting, particularly around the usual areas – underneath and around the back end.
Obviously intelligent, Cleo watched the mats fall away and seemed to become more relaxed as the session went on. We think she understood what was going on and she certainly enjoyed the brush out of her remaining hair afterwards.
Nice meeting you Cleo – Well done chick !
mr radek
We met up again with our little friend Radek in Newton le Willows, Merseyside.
Although we see Radek on a regular basis, his lonnnnnng thicccccck coat is always ready for a session.
You know the saying, that cats are contrary ? Well, we know that Radek doesn’t mind laying on his right side, but really doesn’t like laying the other way around on his left. So, we tailor the session and do as much work as we can with him laying on his right side. However, today Radek decided it was going to be quite the opposite – and was determined lay on his left throughout ! ! Cheeky !
After our visit, mum Lorraine said :
“Just had another fab session with Sandra. Once again Radek was his usual mischievous self but Sandra soon settled him down and worked her magic, turning him back to his handsome self and I’m sure in this heat it is much appreciated. Thanks again, Sandra”
Thanks Lorraine – and see you soon Radek. Wonder which side we’ll see next time … ?!
the lovely sophie
We met up with Sophie again in Knutsford, Cheshire. Sophie is a Blue Silver Spotted British Short Hair and is a most beautiful girl.
Sophie’s coat is full and dense, and although we meet up with her on a regular basis, she is always ready for a brush out. Her coat gets especially thick around her shoulders, sides and flanks.
It’s fair to say that Sophie’s not that keen on the idea … She’d much rather be following her usual routine of eating and napping, thank you …. but she tolerates. We think there’s some arthritis in her joints so we’re careful when moving her around the table.
Due to the thickness of Sophie’s coat and the amount of dead hair that always comes away, we decided to make the sessions a little more frequent. This will benefit Sophie as the brushing won’t be as difficult.
Nice seeing you again, Sophie … See you soon !
chilled fudge
We were asked to meet up with 8 month old Fudge. Fudge is a red Siberian Forest Cat who lives with his brother and family in Parbold, Wigan, Greater Manchester.
A more friendly chap you could not meet ! The night before our afternoon session, Fudge has been out all night and didn’t turn up at home until about an hour before we began. Just in time for a nice relaxing groom ! On the left is a piccie of Fudge before the session, helping mum complete the paperwork !
We attended to some small matted areas under Fudge’s armpits and on his inner thighs. Fudge wasn’t phased one bit by the clippers. He lay contently on the grooming table – snoozing for the most part – whilst we clipped and combed away, and rid him of bits of bracken and sticky bobs that he’d brought in on his coat.
After the session, mum Bex said :
“Sandra did an amazing job grooming Fudge and trimming his knotty fur. He was very relaxed around Sandra and warmed to her immediately. He looked beautiful when finished and enjoyed all the pampering. He will be looking forward to the next visit !”
Well done Fudge … Nice to meet you !
stunning eva
Come and meet this stunning girl … Eva, a totally white lady, in Liverpool. We think Eva is about 9 years old.
Eva is quite a nervous girl by nature, but we had a little chat before our session – and a good sniff, and head rub. No mats in sight, but Eva’s coat was extremely thick and holding onto a lot of dead hair from the winter. See the piccie of Eva below, before the session. You can see how the coat isn’t laying flat to her body.
So today’s session was about a brush out and we began the session well. Although Eva had never had her nails clipped before, there was no fuss. The, she lay on her side whilst we began working underneath. Mum was present to reassure and pet, whilst we got to work. During the session, there were stretches when Eva was evidently relaxed – we’d even go as far as say ‘chilling’ !. As we continued, Eva became very fidgety – but for a first time, for a nervous cat, we think she fared very well.
After the session mum commented that Eva hadn’t been as nervous as she’d expected. She had thought she would be shaking with fear – when in fact she was nothing of the sort.
Well done Eva, chick ! Such a brave girl !!
cutey keo
This 15 year old blue Persian is the lovely Keo. Keo has been with his dad and housemate for a number of years now, and really does have the life of Riley ! He is adored, and he knows it.
We called in to see Keo as he had developed some matted areas around his body that needed some attention. The usual places – mainly on the lower back, flanks, underneath and around the rear end. Also, on his legs and feet. You can see from the photo on the left, how the coat particularly around the backend didn’t sit flush. Keo wasn’t too keen on the idea, but under protest, let us get to work and rid him of most of the mats.
It was a hot day, and clearly going back underneath to complete the clipping, followed by a brush out would have been a little too much so we decided to call the session to a halt and resume at a later date.
A week or so later – back on the grooming table – Keo was a different guy. Reports from dad said that since the first visit Keo had been much happier, more interactive and more playful again. Obviously, feeling much happier about himself. This second session was calm and relaxed and we finished off without any fuss. There was still quite some work to do – mainly around the legs and feet, and a brush out of his remaining coat – but Keo took it all in his stride. He’ll feel much more comfy now he’s clear, and the coat can start to grow back nicely.
After the session, dad Colin told us :
“Thank You Sandra for looking after Mr Keo …… He is a lot happier in himself since your visit and he has even been out and about enjoying the sunshine so he must be feeling a lot cooler since his groom …. And he is sorry for any scratching and biting – he didn’t mean it really 😉 “
Fantastic …. This is the feedback we love to hear ! So pleased that you are obviously much happier with your new bod, Keo. Hope you can now enjoy your 1:1 combing sessions with dad going forward …
Do you hug your cat each day ?
