such a star
Star Lord ! The most sweet-est, cuddli-est, friendlli-est boy in Chester, Cheshire ! You’ll find Star Lord there with mum and dad, and his housemate Pancake.
At around 12 months old, Star Lord is a long haired Exotic – or a Persian, by some definitions.
Today was about a brush out to remove lots of dead hair from Star Lord’s coat, and to work through/remove one or two tangles that had developed. At the start of the session Star Lord was a little wriggly, but as we progressed he settled well and chilled out on the grooming table.
The tufts of hair underneath Star Lord’s paws grow long (as they do on many long haired cats) and we trimmed them back, to make them neater. Well, Star Lord LOVED this. He was outstretching his little toes to help proceedings !! “Oooh, just fuss me some more please …..”
After the session, mum Claire said
“Thank you so much ! He looks fabulous and Yes, he rested all afternoon … Exhausted from his pampering … and much better for him being clipped under his arms – much cooler and comfortable for him …. Can’t believe how much hair you gathered!”
Thanks Claire ! So pleased that Star Lord is feeling more comfy with his thinner coat and looking forward to seeing him again in a few weeks time !
lovely misty
Misty lives in Oldham, Greater Manchester with mum and dad – and her feline sister Meascha. These Maine Coon teenage girls enjoy their lifestyle of playing, eating, sleeping and nosey-ing at everything that’s going on.
Misty has such a gentle demeanour and our session today was no exception. She’s still only a babe really at 18 months but she knows how to chill and enjoy our sessions. She lay contently, enjoying the fuss – oh, and watching the birds in the garden that were teasing her with all their hopping around. The grooming table was a great viewing platform !
A couple of days after the session, mum Peggy sent a message to us
“the kitties send their love and purrs of thank you for the grooming xxxx”
Nice seeing you again Misty and we’ll meet up again in a few weeks time chick ….
miss milly
Who remembers little Ragdoll Milly in Ripponden, Yorkshire ?
Sessions for Milly are becoming easier and more relaxed each time we meet up. Today, this 3 year old chick relaxed sufficiently to close her eyes and chill for a large part of the session. We tended to her undercarriage first of all. Not really knotty, but benefitted from a good brush out – as did the rest of her coat.
We always take a lot of dead hair away and today was no exception. Milly is now sporting her summer look !
After the session mum Abby told us
“Thanks so much for seeing Milly again. She’s a regular customer now and after a rather tentative start (as usual) Milly settled in well with Sandra just fine. She’s a timid cat anyway but Sandra is so good with her. After her grooming session she seemed so happy, came and sat with me purring away ! Sandra did a brilliant job with her somewhat (ridiculously) fluffy coat again ! See you again soon x”
Thanks so much Abby and nice seeing you again Milly. Such a good girl !
such a sweet boy
Here’s a new young man to join us. His name is Dusty and he’s around 15 months old and he’s found in Middewich, Cheshire with his housemates and family.
Now, his breed ? To be honest, we’re not sure. A vet has said perhaps a Ragdoll. Mum thinks perhaps a Ragamuffin. We think perhaps that Dusty is black smoke Siberian – although saying that, he is quite a small chap (female Siberians tend to be quite a lot smaller than their male counterparts). Any ideas, anyone ?
That aside, Dusty is the most sweet boy you could wish to meet. He’s not too keen on letting mum tend to his undercarriage but he was fine during our session. He was a little squirmy to begin with, but soon settled – and after hearing the clippers, they didn’t phase him one bit. A couple of matted areas were removed from undeneath, and from around his lower back/rear quarters.
After the session, Dusty was friendly as anything. He came for head rubs after topping up his tum !
A few days after the session, mum Lauren said
“Dusty is a lot happier after his groom. I didn’t think his coat could get any softer ! I still can’t believe you managed to get him to sit happily whilst using the clippers ! Thank you very much. Your Service is extremely professional and the outcome has been worth every penny !”
Great to hear – thanks Lauren ! You’ve got a lovely lad there !
baby meascha
We met up again with Maine Coon babe Meascha in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Meascha is now around 18 months old and a sweeter little girl you can not imagine.
Meascha spends her time playing with her sister Misty, and they have now ventured outside, under supervision. They love it !
Today Meascha’s coat was in great condition. Just one or 2 tiny areas that needed attending to, and a brush out to remove dead coat.
A few days following the session we heard from mum Peggy who said
“the kitties send their love and purrs of thank you for the grooming xxxx”
A great session. Meascha was chilled and purry and we had a good time !
mr radek
It was time to meet up with our 7 year old Persian friend Radek again in Newton le Willows, Merseyside.
Many of you will know Radek as we meet up with him on a regular basis to keep on top of his voluptuous coat (not sure if this adjective correctly describes a coat, but you get the idea !!!).
We’re keeping Radek’s undercarriage (ie. his chest and tummy) short these days as otherwise his coat gets very tangly, very quickly and is difficult to manage. So, we began the session by clipping it back. Radek really doesn’t mind this – in fact, he much prefers clipping under there to any combing. Then we combed out the rest of this coat. Even though it was thick, we could see a difference between winter and summer coats.
Following the session, mum Lorraine said
“Just had another fab session with Sandra. Radek has been known to be a tricky customer but thanks to Sandra’s continued patience and support I really feel like we are on top of his coat . It has become a lot more manageable, which makes him on happy little Radek xx”
Brilliant – Thanks Lorraine. Nice session, Radek. Here’s a great piccie of Radek relaxing and sorting himself out !
friendly smokey
We heard from a new guy on our patch – Smokey in Bromborough on The Wirral.
Smokey is now around 10 years old. We’re not sure exactly as he arrived at mum’s a few years ago – decided he liked, and that he’d stay !
He is such a friendly, gentle boy. Smokey has been groomed before, but this was his first home session.
We took away lots of dead hair from Smokey’s coat. It was particularly thick around the flank and lower back area where it was beginning to get clumpy.
A little fidgety to begin with but as the session went on Smokey sat of his own accord and actually, seemed to be enjoying the attention.
Great session Smokey ! Here’s a piccie of Smokey’s buggy … Mum wheels him to see the vet around the corner. Much easier than carrying him, and Smokey loves it !
beautiful bela
We were asked to meet up with Bela (or Bellamina to give her her full Sunday name !).
Such a sweet girl ! Bela is now 19 years old and she is taking life a bit easier than her younger years. She does however still play out in her garden in Southport, Lancashire.
Bela’s not able to wash her coat as well these days and it had developed pelts around the body – most significantly around her back, sides and rear quarters.
We took it real slowly with Bela, and gave her lots of breaks during proceedings. We worked on her back and sides first to remove the worst of the coat and it was apparent that this was a long enough session for Bella today.
We called it a day, and arranged to meet up again in a few weeks to work through more of the coat.
However, in the meantime we know for a fact that Bela will be feeling like a million dollars. In fact, whilst we were clearing up Bela was having a good scratch at an ear – something she hasn’t been able to do for some time due to her restricted coat.
Really pleased for you Bela – you were so brave and such a good girl.
happy harry
We met up again with Mr Harry in Huyton, Liverpool. Mr Harry is a 3 year old red Persian who is the most gentle, friendly boy you could meet.
We last saw Mr Harry at the beginning of the year. Today, we took away some tangles that couldn’t be worked through and brushed out the rest of his coat. Mr Harry was quite an athletic little chick today … Fidgety !
However, we had a lovely session and we know that he felt good about his bod afterwards. Plus, he looked lovely !
After the session, mum Mandy said
“Mr H is absolutely fine. He’s feeling very affectionate and rubbing his scent all over me. I think Kizzy is getting a bit jealous ???”
Well done Mr H – See you again in a few weeks time.
handsome herbie
Here’s Maine Coon Herbie from Warrington, Cheshire after his maintenance session to rid him of a few knotted areas and dead hair.
Herbie is now almost 4 years old and he’s a hefty lad. He’s not at all keen on the grooming process, and over the last 18 months he has decided that it’s not at all for him. We’re hoping that it’s teenage hormones at play and that he’s going to grow out of it as he’s such a loving boy at other times.
We’ll catch up with you again in a few weeks time Herbie ….
