lovely mia
It was nice to see our little friend miss Mia again, recently. Mia had just celebrated her 6th birthday in Nantwich, Cheshire.
Today, Mia was definitely wearing her summer coat. In fact, even before the session, her coat was half the size she carries during the winter months.
cheeky sophie
Persian Sophie in Burnley, Lancashire had a surprise for us when we visited this time around. She has a new little friend who’s come to live with her. Just weeks old and settling in verrrry well !
Sophie let us greet her with a few strokes and watched with interest as all the gear was set up.
We began the session – as always – very calmly. We always clip her tummy hair back these days to make life easier all round (she doesn’t like being combed under there and it becomes very tangly very quickly). As the session progressed – and as we reached that left armpit – Sophie (as always) decided that enough really was enough and that she didn’t mind one long and one short armpit ! However, she was overruled and we evened her up !
The rest of Sophie’s coat on top was thick, even though it’s only a few weeks since we last met up. A lot of hair came away !
See you again soon, chick !
miss macy
It was Macy in Manchester’s turn for her maintenance groom recently.
3 year old Macy is a Maine Coon, and you may recognise her as we meet up with her on a regular basis.
Macy’s coat was extra thick today and it we had an extra long session to work through it. Apart from a couple of moments, Macy was compliant and even enjoyed parts of the session. She might tell you otherwise, but it was obvious from her snoozing and toe stretching !
She sure lost a lot of dead coat and is feeling a lot lighter and fluffier ! Here’s a piccie taken after the session, with her coat fluttering in the breeze.
little martha
Two years old Chinchilla Persian Martha in Clitheroe, Lancashire recently had her latest session with us.
When we met up a few weeks ago, we took a large portion of Martha’s coat underneath and on her lower sides away as it was too matted to brush out. Today – It was growing back a treat !
Martha doesn’t like being brushed and she will do everything her squiggly little body can think of to get out of it. Such a sweet little girl, but determined !
Today gave us the opportunity to concentrate mostly on the top section of her coat. This is itself was time consuming for the area involved as it was very thick, and Martha wasn’t really willing.
However, overall it was an easier session and should show Martha that actually, there’s nothing to worry about.
Nice seeing you again, Martha. Be good !

duch lady
A manicure was on the cards this time around for Duch in Warrington, Cheshire.
You may remember Duch ? We’ve met up a few times now – sometimes for a manicure and other times for a full groom.
You’d be forgiven for not realising that Duch is 18 years old !
Duch doesn’t like have her nails trimmed but she didn’t kick up a fuss. It was all over before she knew it.
Afterwards, Duch went for a few mouthfuls of late breakfast, then back off to bed to sleep it off !
Looking forward to seeing you again in a few weeks Duch for your brushout !
miss bola
Yes – It’s Bola. Chinchilla Persian. Almost 6 years old. Lives with mum in Preston, Lancashire.
Bola’s coat was extremely thick today, with a few knots that we clipped away.
Bola was in quite a fiery mood today for a little lady ! We brushed out her coat and relieved her of substantial dead hair – for which she’s no doubt now feeling more comfier.
See you again in a few weeks time, pretty Bola …
gorgeous oliver
It was time to call in to see Oliver again in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
Oliver’s now almost 3 years old, and he’s a British Longhair (a British Short Hair with a long haired gene). It’s true to say that Oliver has the most thick, voluptuous coat you can imagine.
Last time we saw him earlier this year we took away the majority of his coat as he was a little matted, and in general it was too much for him to manage. Mum reports that since then, he’s been such a happy boy. Fantastic.
So, today, we clipped his coat back again. It hadn’t fully regrown, but was maybe around halfway there.
Although still fidgety, Oliver was noticeably more relaxed and compliant today. Saying that though, he still really doesn’t like being fiddled with underneath – so there still lay a challenge.
A great session, Oliver. Well done friend and see you again in a few weeks time …
Hercules champion
It was time to meet up again with our friend Hercules Champion in Kirkham Lancashire.
If you don’t know Hercules Champion, he’s a rather fine looking 16 year old Maine Coon. That’s right – 16 years old, but you’d never guess !
Hercules Champion has the best of everything. Fresh chicken, prawns .. oh you name it, he has it !
His coat was quite knotty this time round but our Hercules Champion was in quite a good mood once he found himself on the grooming table. We had a little catch up and lots of cuddles and sweet talk throughout. Hercules C likes it that way. He likes to snuggle his head whilst he’s being combed !
Afterwards, his coat looked so well !
miss dolly
It was time for miss Dolly’s maintenance groom once again and Dolly was such a little doll ! What a good girl !
She is quite a dainty young Persian cross lady, Dolly who lives in Carnforth, Lancashire and she’s now around 2.5 years old. As we began her sessions when she was quite young she knows just what to expect and although she comes across as nervous upon our arrival, once she’s on that grooming table she’s so chilled – grooming herself on her chest and paws, whilst we work further back / underneath.
Dainty she is, but she is tolerant of quite a rigorous comb when we hit a tangle. Then, we took away a couple of matted areas -including both armpits – with the clippers, as they were a little to difficult to comb out.
Fantastic session Dolly ! Well done !
