mr chi
We were asked to call in to see Chi in Darwen, Lancashire. Chi is a Black Smoke Persian who is around 4 years old who lives with housemate Furby, and mum and dad.
Chi is a happy little soul. As a Persian he has the most thick coat, but he and mum are well on top of it. There were just a couple of troublesome areas underneath where he’s not as keen on being combed by mum.
Although a little fidgety at the start, Chi settled well and let us get on with the job in hand. He was much happier on all 4s and in fact, very chilled out at times.
After the session, mum Sarah said
“Thanks a lot for the fantastic grooming session. You have a lovely manner with cats which shows as Furby and Chi both seemed to take to you immediately. And they came back afterwards for another look at you ! After the grooming session they were sniffing each other and seemed very happy and relaxed. Both of them are looking great with beautiful coats.”
Great to hear, Sarah ! Here’s a piccie of Chi after the session, just after he’d had a good wash to sort himself out … !
cutie konnie
We met up with our Maine Coon friend Konnie again in Warrington, Cheshire.
Konnie is now over 4 years old, so just about reaching maturity. She is a biiiiiig girl !
We held Konnie’s session outside in the garden as it was a hot afternoon. Her coat was in good condition with only a couple of small knots to be removed.
As always, Konnie gave us a little growl most of the way through the session – in tandem with eyes shut contently, and paws kneading away …. It’s quite comical.
A nice session as always, Konnie. Well done !
mister whisky
Whisky is an 18 month old Persian who lives in Ormskirk, Lancashire. He’s the sweetest little fellow you could imagine. He’s been with his mum for around 6 months – and he’s absolutely adored. His best friend is Pixie Bob Billy, who you’ve met before.
We decided that it would benefit Whisky to have a clip for a fresh start. He’s a house cat, so in that respect he won’t miss his coat.
As far as we were aware, this was Whisky’s first professional grooming session. He was most fidgety, and really didn’t like exposing his belly for clipping ! We broke off the session, then resumed a couple of weeks later. This really helped. Whisky was much calmer and his clip was finished without fuss. Well done little fellow !
We know he’ll be feeling comfy now, and his new coat will grow back afresh.
beautiful bella
We called in to see our little friend Bella again in Golborne, Wigan.
Bella has a beautiful coat which she keeps on top of so well. However, today it was very thick and was holding lots of dead undercoat which needed to come away. There were also one or two mats that had developed, which she said needed attention.
Quite a fidgety young lady, it took Bella some time to relax on the table. She doesn’t particularly like to be picked up or held – and likes to be in full control at all times. So, being asked to chill on the grooming table wasn’t top of her agenda. However, we had a little chat about it – lots of sweet talk ! – and decided that it would be for the best if she just let it happen ! So, she did !
Afterwards, Bella was evidently pleased with herself. She sprawled herself out on the landing while we had a chat with mum and was obviously a happy chick. We had lots of strokes and headbuts, and oh, she was so interested in all the gear as it was being cleared away !
Mum Sam later said “Once again an excellent service from Sandra. Bella looked beautiful (and a lot more comfortable) after her session. I think it spoke volumes when afterwards, rather than escaping out of the door, Bella hung around for a few extra cuddles. Thank you !”
Nice seeing you again Bella. Well done little girl !
what a handsome teddy bear
It was sooo nice to see Mr Teddy Bear again. Mr Teddy Bear is 2 years old and lives with his family in Connah’s Quay, Wales.
Mr Teddy Bear is a Longhaired Exotic and he has the most thick, fluffy, long coat you can imagine ! He always feels so obviously happier when his coat is clipped short.
As always, he was a little start during his session. He sat patiently, and really enjoyed the attention and fuss.
After the session, mum Kirsty said :
“He loves his short hair. So do we ! Thanks Sandra, amazing as always xxx”
Nice seeing you again little fellow ! Hope you’re enjoying your Lion Clip again !
miss ella
This young lady is Ella. She’s about 15 months old and she’s from Widnes, Cheshire.
Ella is an extremely nervous young lady. We’re not sure about her early life but this may well have played a part in today’s behaviour.
She had some mats down each side of her spine and around her rear quarters. These needed to be removed with the clippers as they were past being brushed out. We tried different approaches, and had a couple of breaks as Ella really was so nervous.
It was nice to see the mats come away, and to know that now Ella will be so much more comfy. Well done little girl !
stunning macy
Our Maine Coon friend Macy in Manchester was due her regular brush out recently.
Macy told us a tale or two as we worked through her long coat. We took quite a lot off underneath which was too knotty to comb out. On top was thick, but mostly comb-able (word ?!).
Think this is the nearest to a summer coat that Macy has seen so far this year …. Here’s a piccie of Macy sorting herself out, after the session !
mr bailey
Here’s Bailey again ! Remember him ? You’ll find this 10 year old chick in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
Bailey’s now quite used to his sessions and this is evident as each time we meet up he is more relaxed as he knows just what to expect.
Not a knot on sight today ! Bailey was wearing his summer atire and we had a brush out to relieve him of dead hair that was sitting in his coat.
Such a good boy – patient, calm and gentle. Nice seeing you again Bailey !
gorgeous herbie
We called in on Maine Coon Herbie in Warrington, Cheshire for his regular maintenance session.
Herbie isn’t keen on his sessions, but his coat gets knotty so they are a must.
We held the session in the garden as it was a very hot afternoon, and much more comfortable out there in the shade.
We took away a few mats which couldn’t be worked through, and brushed out the rest of Herbie’s coat …. and we know that Herbie always feels better afterwards, for his troubles !
lovely luna
Here’s a lovely 2 year old young lady called Luna from Haslingden, Rossendale, Lancashire.
Luna is a Maine Coon, and she’s the most sweet girl. We’re told she’s usually very nervous of strangers and usually bolts, but she sat on her chair watching and listening whilst we sorted out the gear out. Then she came over for a sniff of everything … !
This was Luna’s first professional groom. Her coat was in great condition, with just one or 2 knots underneath that needed attention. There was little resistance on Luna’s part. In fact, we know that she loved all the fuss and sweet talk.
After the session, Luna went into her little cat den where she proceeded to have the best wash you can imagine. When she finally came out, she was quite soppy – have slobbered all over herself. Luna !
A day or so later, mum Helen told us
“Hi Sandra …. Luna’s been a rather content young lady since her groom, she hasn’t even had a scrap with her big sister. She’s been washing her mum and grandma a lot too. We’d definitely refer you to our friends if they need a groomer in future and we would happily use your services again”.
Then – a few days later
“Again, many thanks for giving Luna a good groom. My allergies haven’t been half as bad since your visit. She’s been full of beans too, running around like a lunatic a lot more often and playing fetch……. Luna has always been chilled but after her groominbg with Sandra, she is on zen mode”
Fabby – Thanks Helen ! Nice to meet you Luna babe !
