pretty penny
We met up with a new chick – Penny – from Preston, Lancashire.
Penny is around 11 years old, and really does not like her mum and dad trying to comb her at all. Hence, her long coat had developed several areas of mats that needed to be taken away.
It was a heated session, there is no doubt. However, we know from mum that since the session Penny has been a bit more affectionate. No doubt feeling more comfy with her new bod.
Penny’s coat is a bit patchy at the moment, but the important thing was to remove the pelts – as quicky as possible ! – for a fresh start.
Well done Penny ! We hope you can learn to accept (and enjoy ?) brushing by mum.
mr champion
Here’s Maine Coon Hercules Champion from Kirkham, Lancashire – looking his best after his latest brush out session. Looking his best at 16 years old – Remember ?!
Since we last met up a few weeks ago, Hercules Champion has been the victim of a pellet gun attack. Nasty, but he was so lucky – and his wound is all healed up now.
We removed a few lumps and knots with the clippers today, and brushed out the rest of his coat. Herkie (his smoochie coochie name !) would rather have been playing out – which he did straight after the session – but he was patient for a short time whilst we worked through his coat.
Nice session, Hercules Champion !
a free spirit
It was a Belly Clip for Himalayan Persian Spirit this time around.
Spirit has a most long, flowing, thick coat but miraculously he manages to take care of it on his own for the most part.
He is a big, gentle boy and lay calmly and contently on the grooming table whilst we set about his session. On balance though, we think that Spirit does prefer the clippers to the comb.
It was a great session, and we’ll look forward to seeing you again in the Spring, Spirit for your Lion Clip.
pretty poppy
We met up with a new chick in Windermere, Cumbria recently. Poppy is a 5 year old British Shorthair.
Poppy was quite surprised to find herself on the grooming table. We’d been asked to meet up as her coat was becoming clumpy down the lower back area.
We began the combing slowly, to get Poppy in the mood and to help her understand that nothing terrible was about to happen. Once she was comfortable with combing around her head and areas lower down that weren’t clumpy we moved onto the problem areas. The worst of the matting was zipped off with the clippers.
Underneath, whilst we found Poppy really wasn’t happy being combed she quite enjoyed the slicker brush. It’s always a case of seeing what works best for the individual.
Well done Poppy ! Much more comfy now !
such a sweetie
We recently met up again with Persian Athena from Middleton, Greater Manchester.
Athena enjoys a Lion Clip these days to keep on top of her coat and to make maintenance easier for everyone.
Although a little fidgety to begin with, Athena settled well into her session. We did well until nearing the end when Athena was fidgety once again. Mum came into the session at that point to distract, whilst we finished off.
We know, however, that Athena was a happy little chick with her velvety coat that evening ! Well done Athena !
star lord
Our friend Long Haired Exotic Star Lord ! Who remembers Star Lord ?
Star Lord is just 18 months old and lives with his mum and dad and housemate Pancake in Chester, Cheshire.
Its a few weeks since we met up with Star Lord. In that short period, Star Lord’s coat had become thick and heavy and was well indeed ready for its brush out. Not knotted or matted as mum has done well to keep on top of the situation.
We took some hair away from the armpit region to help with maintenance, from around the rear and underside of the paws – followed by an all round brush out.
A little fidgety at times (and .. Oh, a tale he did tell !) but overall Star Lord was a little Star !!! A well named boy. Well done Star Lord !
miss lily
It was time to meet up again with British Longhair Lily from Preston, Lancashire.
Lily is never keen on her maintenance sessions, but her coat is so long, thick and full, they are a must.
Today, Lily was a little tangly underneath. We worked through her coat – detangling and clipping as necessary.
As always, Lily lost a lot of dead hair in the process – and looked a lot slimmer afterwards ! Well done Lily !!
sweet rufus
Persian Rufus from Stockport, Cheshire enjoyed a brush out when we met up with him recently.
Last time, Rufus had a Lion Clip. Today – just a belly clip, with the rest of his coat brushed out.
Rufus was a good little boy .. and he even enjoyed his back feet having the once over !
Well done little man ! We’ll see you again for your Spring session.
lovely milly
How pretty is little Ragdoll Milly in Ripponden, Yorkshire ?
As every, lottttts of hair came away from Milly’s coat during her brush out this time around.
Milly is quite a cautious girl but sessions have certainly become easier for her as time has gone on. Today, Milly lay snuggled with her head on a towel for the most part.
All ready for that winter coat now, Milly !
gorgeous elsa
We called in to see Elsie – sorry, Elsa again in Cheadle Heath, Cheshire.
Not a knot in sight … Both Elsa and mum have been doing a real good job looking after Elsa’s thick coat. We had a gentle brush out and listened to Elsa’s low key chat along the way.
Elsa is always a good girl during her sessions and today proved no different. Afterwards, Elsa had a good sniff at all the bags whilst we cleared all the gear away.
… and she looked fabulous !
A few days after the session, mum Janice said
Love the pics Sandra, thank you so much for making my lovely girl even more lovely, you are fantastic and we love your visits
Thanks so much girls, and thank you for the lovely flowers !!
