big boy kiwi
It’s great to see how well big boy Kiwi has settled, after his house move.
Today’s Session with Maine Coon Kiwi in Fence, Lancashire was very settled. Kiwi enjoyed his first Belly Clip (as he is less keen on being combed under there) and a Hygiene Trim was sneaked in too. Whatever he tells you, he didn’t even notice at the time !

A Full Clip was on the cards today for Persian Suri’s maintenance Session.
Quite fidgety during her time on the grooming table – but less so than she used to be. Suri knows that she feels great for it !
…. she wasn’t up for a photoshoot though. More interested in going for lunch, thanks.

Theo was his usual charming self during his maintenance Clip in Carnforth, Lancashire.
A couple of panicky moments, but overall a great Session.
Theo doesn’t like lying on his side – although we think he probably does it outside of his SessionsĀ 
Ā – so we do as much of the clipping as possible on all 4s. This suits Theo better.

A routine Belly Clip and Brush Out were on the cards for Kizzy Whiz in Liverpool recently.

miss phoebe
Phoebe always makes a hasty retreat after her Session. Here she is, taking refuge in her secure garden.
Persian Phoebe’s coat is thick, and she doesn’t like being combed. Therefore the best way forward for Phoebe and mum is to keep Phoebe’s coat short.
Phoebe doesn’t particularly like the clippers either – but we think she prefers them to the comb – and it means the intervals between her Sessions can be longer.

Catching up with Hobo in Preston, Lancashire was on the cards again recently for his Autumn Brush Out.
Hobo’s coat was definintely ready for the Session ! Not particularly matted, but holding lots of excess hair. This hair, if not brushed out, is what causes matting going forwards.
It was great to leave Hobo with a thinner, floof free coat. All ready for your new Winter coat, Hobo ….. See you again in the Spring !

Persian Samson from Padiham, Lancashire chose to have a good snooze during his latest Belly Clip and Brush Out. He just couldn’t keep his eyes open ….
floofy oliver
Floofy Persian Oliver is always such a good boy during his Belly Clip and Brush Out Sessions in Winsford, Cheshire.
It was a hot afternoon so today’s Session was in the garden – under a marquee, to shelter from the glare. A slight breeze blowing through. Just perfect !
It really is important that we don’t overheat during our Sessions. Overheating makes for an uncomfortable Session, with undue tension.

Persian Aslan from Warrington, Cheshire was quite determined today that his Session wasn’t going to go ahead.
Aslan has a difficult coat to maintain. It’s very cotton wool-y, which makes it difficult to comb, Aslan doesn’t like being combed. So, his coat mats even moreso. Then everything becomes even more difficult ….
For most of the year, we maintain with regular Brush Outs and Belly Clips. Over the summer months, we decided to let Aslan enjoy freedom (!) with a FullĀ Clip. This meant he could go longer between Sessions, without his coat becoming matted.
Today, we finished on a first (rough) Clip. Aslan had been vocal and demonstrative throughout the Session, so this was the best approach for him, today.

Although Persian Hercules is quite a nervous young man, he has come on in leaps and bounds during his Sessions.
The first couple of times we met up, Hercules was quite fidgety. These days, he chills and takes it in his stride. Don’t get us wrong – he’s pleased when the Session is over, but during, he lays and closes his eyes and does enjoy some fuss.
