fluffy floyd
British Shorthair variant Floyd’s coat is extremely thick and terribly difficult to comb through as it’s so cotton wool-y. It had developed a few lugs that needed to come away.
We began today’s session in Leyland, Lancashire intending a Belly Clip but it soon became apparent that a Full Clip was the best way forward. Saying that, it was still a difficult coat to work with.
A short while afterwards, Floyd was feeling much lighter and comfier !
such a sweetie
7 year old Rem in Oldham, Greater Manchester had developed pelts down her back, and quite a clumpy coat. Even a short coat can become this way if it’s not kept on top of.
Rem is quite a shy girl, but she was interested enough to come and say Hello, and watch was a curious noseyness (word ?) as the gear was set up.
On the table, Rem was a little star ! It took her just a couple of minutes to click what was going on, Not keen on lying over, but managed. We combed out her tummy and clipped the worst of the mats away on top for a fresh start … and she looked great !
See the piccies …. The top 3 are after the Session. The lower 3 or before we began the Session (see the pelts down Rem’s back).
A few days after the session, dad Gulam got in touch :
“Just wanted to say a quick thanks for your help with Rem the other day. Rem was a little apprehensive to start with but she eventually calmed down and allowed you to help remove the matting. She’s been very affectionate since her session with you, she’s eating well and for an older cat wants to play a little more. Which is great ! Overall I think she’s doing really well and it’s a huge relief for both her and the family that she’s got her coat back. So a huge thanks is in order and I would recommend anyone to give your services a try ! Rem usually takes a few attempts before she is comfortable with someone but seem to get on very well with you straight away”
kizzy whizz
We called in to see Persian Kizzy Whizz in Huyton, Liverpool recently.
Kizzy was definitely ready for a little detangling underneath and a good work through on top. It’s only a matter of weeks since we saw her but her coat grows so quickly !
Nice session Kizzy. Well done !
lovely tia
Tia. 13 years old. Slim. Small. Moston. Manchester.
Come and meet a most timid young lady. Timid but nosey ! Even though she’s afraid of strangers, and noises and wants to hide away she just had to pop her nose around the doorway to check out what was going on !
Although Tia’s coat is short, it had begun to clump around her flanks and rear quarters. A good thinning out was required. She was as good as gold. A bit of a squirmy worm, but very gentle.
A few days after the Session, mum Paula said
“Tia is still looking good. I’ve been brushing her. Tia sort of puts up with it. Probably just for treats. I said to my friends in work who won the battle between you and Tia. They said Tia. They’re amazed – they’ve seen my scars. Thank you for coming and sorting Tia’s coat out for me, it was really nice to meet you”
cutie kiwi
It was nice to meet up with Maine Coon Kiwi again in Preston, Lancashire.
It was even nicer to hear how combing time with mum has changed for the better. These days – no teeth, no claws. Fantastic ! We knew you could do it Kiwi – you just had to learn that it’s nice 1:1 fuss time.
Today, just a couple of small snags removed, and a good brush out.
A few days later mum Alex said
“…. thank you Sandra!! It’s down to you and your tips and patience, he’s such a happy boy. Looking forward to Autumn pamper session!! Xxx”
gentle april
Maine Coon April in Manchester was her gentle, friendly self during her latest maintenance session.
A big girl, with a big coat – but she does so well to keep on top of it. She was however, ready for her brush out. We removed a couple of tangles and removed a lot of excess hair.
Nice session, Apri.!
a bobby dazzler
Maine Coon Bobby was ready for her maintenance session when we called in on her in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
At 2 years old, Bobby has a thick, long coat which easily tangles. On top of that she seems to take pleasure in getting bits and bobs from the garden entwined in it !
We had a gentle brush out out and removed one or two bits and bobs that Bobby didn’t need to keep hold of.
Definitely feeling much lighter, a little later on … !
dear alex
Alex in Skelmersdale, Lancashire was ready for a good thinning out when we called in on him recently.
Alex has a lush, long coat which he find a little difficult to keep on top of. Saying that, mum has done a good job since we last met up.
Today, we took quite a lot of hair away for a summer look, and Alex was a such a good boy about it.
Nice seeing you Alex !
princess rani
This little lady is Rani ! Who remembers 12 years old Persian Rani from Burnage, Manchester ?
We last saw Rani in March this year. At that point, Rani’s coat was pelted and we took it away for a fresh start.
Well – A fresh start she had, and when we saw her today it was growing back beautifully. However, Rani doesn’t like being combed. Actually, it’s a bit stronger than that. Rani REALLY doesn’t like being combed !
So, today we took her coat back again as very soon it would have started to mat again.
Athough Rani wasn’t enamoured by the session, she definitely tolerated it better than last time. It was easier in that the coat came away more quickly (no pelts) and she remembered that the last session hadn’t been that bad afterall.
Well done Rani. You fared really well !
gentle holly
We called in on Holly in Padiham, Lancashire again recently.
Holly has a long, thick coat which she’s very good at looking after herself – but she is always ready for a brush out and one or two knots teasing out.
She’s a very sweet girl. Always ready to update us on local gossip – oh, and it does seem so busy in Padiham !
Nice seeing you again Holly !
