lovely casper
Casper. Persian cross. 12 years old. Big boy. Stockport. Cheshire. Come and meet him !
Casper’s coat was extremmmmmeeeeellllyyyy thick, as he’s not at all keen on being brushed. Particularly underneath. His coat had become matted under there, and around his rear quarters.
Casper has had several annual clips under anaesthetic for a fresh start and 1 session elsewhere. Today, was Casper’s first home visit. We took Casper’s belly hair away, clipped around his rear end and removed lotttttsss of dead hair from his coat.
We began the session quite calmly – although fidgety. As the session progressed, Casper made it clear that it wasn’t for him, really. However, with mum distracting him, we continued and worked through. Lots of dead hair came away and we have no doubt that Casper’s immediate mega self grooming session at the end of the session was because he was immediately feeling much comfier for his trouble.
After the session, mum Emma said
“You were fantastic with Casper and I am so grateful. He has definitely been happier since Friday. He almost seemed kitten like on Friday night ! All giddy and playful ! And purring really loud and craving affection ! He is clearly feeling so much better in himself ..”
We’re going to keep on top of Casper’s coat with regular maintenance sessions – so, see you again soon Casper ! Well done !
persian poppy
Here’s Persian Poppy from Accrington, Lancashire after her latest Lion Clip.
Poppy has the most cotton wool-y coat. It is very difficult to comb, which makes for Poppy not enjoying being combed all. Therefore, it quickly and easily becomes pelted.
We’ve taken Poppy’s coat away a couple of times previously when her coat has been extremely matted, and they were difficult sessions for Poppy.
Today was Poppy’s first timely maintenance clip and it made for a much easier session for Poppy. Her coat was growing back nicely (although unevenly ?) from last time and we took it back again. We caught it just at the point where it was beginning to mat, under her chin, with her armpit and chest just beginning to knot..
Poppy responded by being much less fidgety as her coat came away much easier.
Well done Poppy !!
fluffy oliver
Oliver’s latest session was his usual brush out, with Belly Clip.
It’s only a matter of weeks since we met up with Persian Oliver in Winsford, Cheshire but he was definitely ready for his session. His coat was beginning to get clumpy in places.
Oliver is quite a nervous young man. However, each session is becoming easier for him. In fact, once he’s actually on the grooming table he relaxes and we get on with no fuss – quite unlike his first sessions, when he was a little fidget.
Nice seeing you again Oliver !
darling duch
19 year old Duch was ready for her brush out when we called in on her recently.
Duch hangs out in Warrington, Cheshire and she’s taking it a little easier these days. She has a sniff of fresh air in the back garden, a choice of her favourite foods, and lots of sleep. Em – sounds like a great cat life !
The areas that we had clipped away at the last session were growing back nicely today and the rest was thick and needed ridding of lots of dead hair.
Duch likes to get comfy with her head cradled and raised on a towel. She feels safer that way. Whatever works for you Duch, is fine ! Nice session !
little bola
Chinchilla Persian, Bola is now around 6 years old.
Having recently moved into her new house in Preston, Lancashire, Bola is now allowed out in the garden – and Yes, she approves !
Today’s session was quite a chilled affair – on the Bola scale. Bola’s coat was very thick and definitely ready for a brush out (see piccie of the hair that came away) but not really knotted. Just a couple of small mats removed.
Did Bola chat away ? Of course ! We’d think there was something wrong if she was quiet. It’s never been known !
gentle edward
A warm welcome to Edward, who joined us in Preston, Lancashire.
Edward is around 11 years old and he’s a quiet, gentle, cautious guy.
There were a few areas within Edward’s coat that needed some attention with the clippers and the rest was combed out. He was very sensitive to the comb and preferred any tangles to be clipped away.
A nice session – and straight out into the garden afterwards to catch up with that sunshine. Here he is, out there – looking in on us, whilst we cleared up !
regal eloise
Eloise from Hoghton, Lancashire is a brown tabby Maine Coon who we meet up with on a regular basis to keep her coat in check. It’s necessary, as Eloise is always out there in the woods, doing her cat stuff and her coat becomes tangled with all sorts of twigs and bracken.
As a Maine Coon, Eloise is quite a hefty girl. Well, very hefty. She’s around 3.5 years old now so she’s probably not going to grow much more, although this breed don’t mature until they are 4-5 years.
Eloise’s coat underneath was quite knotted, so we took it away a fresh start – followed by a good work through on top.
Never keen on her sessions, Eloise managed to hold it together today quite well and we got on with minimum fuss – although there were a few swear words in there for good measure.
As soon as the real brush through is over – and we’re finishing off with the slicker – Eloise knows she looks good ! She aways sits proud and poses for the camera !
miss isabella
Persian Isabella was carrying an enormous coat around with her and called us in for a Full Clip.
Isabella now lives in Lytham St Annes and she’s fallen on her feet. She’s been with her new mum and dad for some time now after being rescued by them. They found her tied to a tree. Can you believe some people ?
Isabella was such a good girl during her session. She was very patient whilst we worked through her thick, cotton wooly coat and she watched it fall to the floor. See the piccie of Isabella, before her clip. Quite a furry affair !
She wasn’t as keen on some areas being worked on – eg. her upper chest – but quite a little star !
Following the Sessison, mum Kaylie said
“Sandra you were absolutely brilliant with our Isabel ! She may be addicted to chicken yoghurt now but she is much happier and looks like a cat now rather than a sheep! Essentially purrfect …. it’s all in the name 😻”
Why not come over to our facebook page and see a short video clip of Isabella just after her Full Clip.
daisy the birman
Gentle Daisy enjoyed her recent manicure and pad trim.
Daisy is a Birman in Preston, Lancashire – and she is such a sweet girl. She has been with mum and dad for a few months now and has never looked back !
Mum and dad are well on top of Daisy’s coat so today was just to attend to Daisy’s nails.
Nice seeing you again Daisy !
mr tigger
It was time to call in and meet up with Tigger again, in Bury, Greater Manchester.
Tigger’s coat had regrown since his clip late last year. As a Persian, Tigger has a high maintenance coat, but mum has been working hard to keep on top of it. Today we removed a couple of knots from underneath and armpits and excess hair from on top.
Well done Tigger ! Such a good boy !
