little rani

It was nice to be able to meet up and help this little lady recently in Manchester.

After the session, mum Amna said

“A big heartfelt thanks to the lovely Sandra who came on her day off to ease my Rani’s discomfort. Rani is a golden Persian with long coarse fur that is easily matted, likes to roll in grass and briers, along with a strong dislike of being brushed – causing her to mat and knot easily. Sandra was incredibly calm and patient with the hot tempererd and feisty Madam Rani and managed to remove most of the matted coat in the first session. She returned three weeks later to remove the underparts and around the legs. Rani is now a much happier, friskier, and more importantly, a very loving and cuddly cat ! I can’t thank Sandra enough for her kindness and patience towards my Rani who is nearly 12 years old and my little sweetheart. Thank you Sandra !”

20160329_152824A Rani 290316 cropped+(c) Here are piccies of Rani taken just as we’d finished the second phase of her session. Her coat had been clipped down to the skin level 3 weeks earlier, to remove pelts – but here, it is growing back very nicely !

It’s always great to hear just how much happier the little chicks are, once the mats have been removed. Really pleased for you, Rani ! We are checking up with you in a few weeks time for a brush out – so PLEASE let mum comb you in the meantime !

Gentle Holly from Padiham enjoyed her maintenance session recently.

Ready for a brush out, as ever. Holly talked .. and talked … and talked throughout the session. Oooh, so interesting Holly and all all so true !

When we called in on Bailey this time around, his coat had snowballed. Enormous ! Litterally !

As we began his brush out but it quickly became apparent that much of it would be extremely difficult to work through – and parts would need to be removed. So, the best way forward was to clip back Bailey’s coat for a fresh start all round.

Although Bailey was a little fidgety, he went along with the idea. Afterwards, he was feeling much lighter for his troubles and we know he’ll be happier without his enormous coat to contend with. Well done, Bailey !

We had a much more chilled session this time around with Betty in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

The first time we met up, last Autumn, we think was Betty’s first professional groom and she wasn’t keen to find herself on the grooming table.

Today, Betty obviously remembered what it was all about and for the most part she remained quite chilled. One or two words along the way, but after we’d removed lots of excess hair from her coat she was feeling great about her new body !

Well done Betty !

Come and meet Jess !

Jess is around 8 years old and she is a Persian cross. You can find Jess in Stockport, Cheshire.

We’d been asked to call in on Jess as her coat had developed a few lumps and bumps that needed some attention. Although Jess wasn’t too keen on the idea, she humoured us and went along with the plan. For the most part Jess was a real good girl – and can we say she even enjoyed parts of it ? Eh, Jess ? She just wasn’t keen on hitting any snags. We brushed out where possible and clipped the rest away.

After the session, mum Janine said

“Thank you Sandra, for giving Jess a Spa day, even though she was very trying at times, I think she has a new friend 😻x”

So pleased you’re feeling comfier, Jess !

lowkey and kiko

Two new little chicks to join our crowd recently in St Helens, needed a manicure.

Lowkey and Kiko are almost 3 years old and as they are housecats they have their nails tended to periodically.

Lowkey is big brother. Much more inquisitive than his sister Kiki, and he had a good sniff around all the gear. Kiki is quite a nervous young lady, but both such sweet babies.

Here’s a piccie of Lowkey. Kiko had, by this time, retreated to her safe place, upstairs ! However, you would have to take a close look to tell them apart !

20160312_134923A Archie 120316 croppe +(c) We had a great session recently with Archie in Middleton, Manchester. In fact, his best session to date.

6 year old Archie has been with his new mum for a couple of years now and, oh yes, he’s certainly settled in and is enjoying the good life !

His long coat gets caught up in twigs etc from the garden and he needs a little help sometimes with his toileting area. The rest of his coat benefitted from a good thinning out.

Meet Stanley !

Stanley lives in Bolton, Greater Manchester. He is 7 years old and he’s a British Shorthair (otherwise known as a BSH or British Blue).

We meet up with Stanley’s housemate for regular sessions and we had previously discussed how Stanley doesn’t like mum brushing him and won’t really tolerate it. However, we’d also noticed that his coat was thick and becoming separated in parts. Ready for a good brush out !

So, today was Stanley’s first official groom. How did he fare ? Exceptionally well ! Fidgety and a couple of escape attempts – but a great session and now Stanley is much lighter for his troubles !

We’ll be seeing you again in a few weeks time Stanley ! Well done !

sweet mitzi

Who remembers Mitzi ? That’s right, Mitzi is around 10 years old and lives in Wigan, Greater Manchester.

We meet up with Mitzi quite regularly to keep on top of her long, thick coat. This time around, Mitzi needed some help working through lugs – particularly underneath – and a good brush out of her remaining coat.

Although deaf, Mitzi was a chatty young lady (as ever !). We now know everything that has been going on in Wigan since our last visit !

20150503_132522A Jasper 030515 cropped+(c) We called in again on our friend Jasper who hangs out in Stockport, Cheshire.

Since we last met up, Jasper and mum have been doing a great job of keeping on top of his thick (thick, thick, thick) coat. Today’s groom was much more in keeping with a regular maintenance session. Saying all of that though .. We still managed to rid Jasper of a fair amount of excess hair.

As ever, Jasper was such a good boy and complied with all aspects of the session. We even had the usual smiles at times !
