mr maxi
Here’s a new chick to join us. Maxi from Stockport, Cheshire.
Maxi is around 3 years old and he is the sweetest guy you could meet.
However, although sweet – Maxi is verrrrryyy squirmy for mum. As good as gold though when he was on the grooming table and very complicit.
Nice meeting you, Maxi !! Not a great photo unfortunately – You can just about make out his eyes.
lily lou
It was time for British Long Hair Lily’s maintenance session recently. You can find Lily in Preston, Lancashire.
Ever so fluffy as ever – but only a couple of snags that needed to be zipped away. The rest of Lily’s coat benefited from a good brush out.
Lily’s never keen on her session, and today she told us as much in no uncertain terms. However, we know she’s always feeling a lot lighter afterwards !

Come and say a big Hi to a new friend – Albert ! A more gentle guy you could not meet !
We think that Albert is around 8 years old, and he lives with his dad in Umston, Manchester.
Although Albert does play out, he doesn’t exercise as much as he used to. He had an accident a few months ago and broke his front left leg. The vet has done all possible, but it obviously still gives him some trouble.
Today’s session was all about nails. Albert has previously had them tended to at the vets, but he’s not keen on the carrier, nor travelling. So, we called in to see him.
Good as gold. 2 mins later the dirty deed was done and Albert was on his way. Well done fellow !

lovely phoebe
We called in once again to see Persian Phoebe from Winsford, Cheshire. Phoebe is around 18 months old now. Remember her from our last visit ?
As a Persian, Phoebe has an incredibly thick coat, which is high maintenance. However, it’s true to say that Phoebe does not like being brushed, hence this makes things very difficult for mum on a day to day basis.
Today, we decided to take Phoebe’s belly back. A Belly Clip. She was quite matted under there so there was no other way forward really. Also, it will make life easier going forward and enable mum to keep on top of things more easily.
Then, we brushed out the rest of Phoebe’s coat. She’ll definintely be feeling a bit lighter now !
We’re going to see this young lady again in a few weeks time to keep on top of things and get her more used to grooming sessions.
sweet pearl
Who remembers this sweet 7 year old chick from Wigan, Greater Manchester ?
Pearl is a Selkirk Rex variant. Selkirk Rex’s can be long or short haired and both coats are plush and curly. The Straight coated Selkirk Rex Variants do not carry the Rex gene. In fact, Pearl’s coat is very much like a British Short Hair (BSH / British Blue) as it is soooo dense.
The last time we met up with Pearl – which was the first time – she took the session all in her stride. She has a lovely plush coat and just needed to lose some of that excess fluff !!
Today was just the same. Pearl lay contently on the bed whilst we prepared for the session. Cuddles and head bumps galore. Then (although she was a tiny bit fidgety) she really did enjoy all the attention that a session brings with it. Lots of fuss and chat whilst the hair came away.

mr chubbs
Mr Chubbs is 13 years old and lives in Manchester.
His mum had made the initial enquiry to arrange a groom at a point when she was concerned that he was quite badly matted down his back. However, by the time our appointment arrived it seemed that the problem had either resolved itself, or Mr Chubbs had sorted it. Very unusual, as there was not any evidence of hair loss, even !
Anyhow, matted or not, Mr Chubbs really wasn’t that keen on finding himself on the grooming table. A nervous boy anyway, we began a gentle brush out very calmly. However, just a few minutes into the session Mr Chubbs had decided that actually, it wasn’t for him. Mr Chubbs’ coat was in great condition with hardly any dead hair coming away and no knots in sight, so we had a quick brush through and let him on his way.

lovely mindy
A manicure was on the agenda for Mindy in Astley, Manchester recently.
Mindy was rescued by her mum and dad some time ago, and is still cautious of strangers. However, once she’s had that first good sniff and checked you out, Mindy is such a friendly girl.
She watched whilst we set up the gear. Mindy knew just what was about to happen – and she even came out from her safe place at the side of the settee for a little ankle rub. Or was it a “come on, get on with it” ??!
Nice session Mindy. Well done !
