macy moo
Maine Coon Macy from Manchester was recently due her maintenance groom.
Last time we met up with Macy a few weeks ago we took away a few knots and tangles – all of which were growing back nicely today.
Today’s session was mainly to work through Macy’s coat with the comb, along with a couple of areas which were clipped.
Mum later said
“Sandra, I just wanted to thank you for all your continued support in the care of my 2 Maine Coon cats while I’m working in Australia. Whilst my housemate is doing the day to day work it is so reassuring to have you continue to visit them and care for their coats. I have always been nothing short of amazed at the way in which you handle Macy, who behaves like nothing short of a grumpy teenager, and also the patience you show with my nervous girl April. The detailed updates you send each time you visit are so thoughtful and I am eternally grateful. Many thanks (from Australia) Francesca x”
Thanks so much Francesca ! Great session, Macy !
miss misty
We met up with young Maine Coon friend Misty in Oldham, Greater Manchester again recently.
Misty’s coat is always in good condition. We just removed a couple of knots that had formed underneath and around one of her trousers – and had a brush out. Misty’s coat is thickening up a bit now, ready for the darker months.
After the session, mum Peggy said
“shes so lovely … love her so much and she loves you coming Sandra…thank you….”
Nice seeing you Misty !
Why not come over to our facebook page where you can see a very short clip of Misty sat in her favourite chair – smiling, after her session … Sooooo chilled !
the lovely bella
Bella is a 7 year old British Short Hair (or British Blue) who lives with her new family in Chorlton, Manchester. She’s been with them now for about 3 months.
Today, Bella’s coat was quite clumpy in parts and in need of a good brush out. Bella wasn’t too keen on the idea, but we took away a lot of dead hair to make her more comfortable.
We’re hoping that with a regular schedule, sessions get easier for Bella as, as a BSH, Bella’s coat is extremely dense and she needs help keeping on top of it.
Looking forward to seeing you again in a few weeks time little chick !
Bella is definitely going to feel lighter, without carrying this load around with her !
our tilly
It was nice to see Maine Coon Tilly again in Blackpool, Lancashire.
Tilly is now around 4 years old, so she getting there in terms of maturity. Maine Coons mature around 4-5 years old.
We worked through Tilly’s coat outside in the cat house, as it was a nice, sunny afternoon. Tilly definitely prefers it out there, with the breeze running through her fur.
A few knots and tangles were removed and later, Tilly was a happy chick. Ready to play out, as she’d been waiting patiently all day for our visit.
Well done Tilly ! Great seeing you again !
who’s a pretty girl
Persian Sophie from Burnley, Lancashire wasn’t too pleased to find herself on the grooming table this time around. She’s never keen, but particularly not in the mood today.
We always take her tummy hair back, as she doesn’t like this area being combed. In fact, she fares much better with the clippers than the comb. So, next time we’re going to let Sophie have a clip all over and see if that makes for a better session.
miss meascha
We called in on Maine Coon Meascha again in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
Still a babe at around 18 months, Meascha likes nothing more that to play with her sister Misty, and these days she plays outside in the garden …. which she thoroughly enjoys !
Meascha has the most soft, silky coat. Just a couple of knots underneath needed some attention and the rest of her coat had a brush out.
A few cuddles later and Meascha looked a million dollars !
A few days after the session, mum Peggy said :
“she is a little darling loves it when Sandra comes…relaxes to the grooming and music….loves climbing the roof chasing birds and squirrils norty girl but adorable xxx”
smiley jasper
It was lovely to meet up again with Jasper in Stockport, Cheshire. We meet up with Jasper a few times a year to give that long, full coat of his a good brush out. Both Jasper and mum are well on top of Jasper’s coat, but a maintenance appointment helps to prevent mats forming. Today, just one or two tangles needed working through.
As always, Jasper was ever so gentle and calm on the grooming table. He always reckons he’s not up for it – both before and after his session – but we know that he loves all the fuss really !
Mum later said :
“hi Sandra, thanks for visiting Jasper recently, it’s fair to say he was ready for his groom ! Thanks for being so patient and working through the knots that had formed which he wouldn’t let me near. It is magical watching you with him, he is so calm in the table and I don’t know how you get him to stay in those positions ! He is certainly feeling the benefit and is noticeably happier, more playful and we’ve even had a few cuddles. Thanks again and we hope to see you soon, claire xx”
Good stuff ! Thanks Claire ! Nice session, Jasper !
bonnie girl
Come and say a big Hi to Bonnie from Burnage, Manchester.
Bonnie is an older lady – somewhere between 12-16 years old we believe. She is quite an anxious girl and really wanted nothing more than to leave the room when we arrived.
However, once on the grooming table, Bonnie managed to lie down without too much fuss. We took a couple of small knots away from underneath. The rest of her tummy wasn’t too thick at all. We had a brush out all over and rid Bonnie of lots of dead hair.
Nice meeting you Bonnie !
maine coon buster
Here’s Maine Coon Buster. Remember this fellow ?
Buster in Manchester was quite anxious the first time we met up for his Lion Clip. However, since then we’ve had regular sessions and it’s obvious that Buster is so more laid back about proceedings. In fact, until we venture to his tummy we could go as far as saying that he’s quite relaxed.
We took his coat back again today, and we know that he always feels so much comfier afterwards.
Well done Buster !
fluffy fluffy
Here’s Fluffy ! Fluffy is very lucky to live with her mum and dad in Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire. She was living on the streets, being fed at the door – until one day she ventured into the house and has literally not stepped a foot over the threshold since. She knows she’s onto a good thing !
We think that Fluffy is somewhere between 11-15 years old. She (as her name would suggest !) has a lovely, fluffy coat but it had become clumpy and matted in places. It was impossible to comb out, so we clipped a large section away around her lower back, sides, rear and underneath to give her a fresh start.
She is quite a nervous young lady, but after a few minutes on the grooming table she really did chill. As the mats came away, Fluffy was obviously feeling so much more comfy and she intently watched what was going on outside on the strett, whilst we got on with the job in hand.
A few days after the session, mum Wendy and dad David told us
“Since her session, Fluffy has never stopped grooming. She has been purring for England. Her body has been shaking she’s been purring that much ! Thanks a million for what you have done for Fluffy !”
Fantastic ! Love to hear these updates !
