lovely lionel
Meet Lionel – a Large 10 years old Lilac British Short Hair who lives in Stockport, Cheshire.
Our services were called upon as Lionel had developed areas of matting around his lower back and rear areas.
We brushed out and saved what was possible, but due to the severity of the clumps, together with Lionel’s tolerance level of the brushing, we clipped away a significant area on his lower back to make him comfortable.
Following the session, mum Pepita told us :
“Lionel is a much happier cat now, as are we. Thanks again for a great job ….”
Well done Lionel !
Florence and Tiger-Lily
We were delighted to call on 2 of our lovely girls again – Tiger-Lily and Florence – in Urmston, Manchester to clip nails.
The girls are 18 month old and are Oriental Shorthair mix sisters. Both girls are quite nervous by nature, but it’s nice to see that their confidence is growing with each session.
Fit, healthy cats that spend a lot of time outside generally naturally wear down their claws sufficiently.
However, indoor or elderly cats may need to have their claws trimmed regularly. Also, some cats have an extra toe (polydactyl) which doesn’t touch the ground (just like the normal dew claw) and may overgrow. If overgrown claws aren’t trimmed they can grow inwards into the pad and can be painful, and become infected.
Following on from the session, mum Eve told us :
“Thanks Sandra! You were amazing with them! See you soon! 🙂 xx”
Can’t wait ! Well done Tiger-Lily and Florence. Very brave !
could you be aisha’s new mum or dad …?
Aisha is 7 years old, and a more gentle, friendly girl you will not find. She loves affection – and loves being loved.
Aisha is used to being around small children, and she’s used to being an only cat – although this doesn’t necessarily mean this has to be the case going forward. Aisha has a long, full coat, which she’ll need some help with, brushing. However, as she lovvvvves being brushed, this shouldn’t be a chore – more like 1:1 special time !
If you think that perhaps you could be Aisha’s new mum or dad, or would like any more detail, please get in touch. She deserves a new, loving home.

gorgeous norman
Norman is a 4 year old Blue Point Ragdoll who has been with his new dad since around Christmas time – and it’s fair to say that he’s landed on his feet ! Norman now has the best of everything and wants for nothing.
Our services were called on as Norman was losing a lot of dead hair around the house. Dad is able to brush, and the coat was knot free and in good condition – just too much of it, as there was still some winter coat sat there.
We think that this was Norman’s first professional grooming session and it took him a while to get the idea, and settle on the table. Then we brushed out his thick coat as he watched intently on what was going on through the bedroom window, and listened to the music we were playing for him. Once settled, we think he quite enjoyed the attention and fuss … Well, there was a little smile on his face at one point, when his eyes were closed … Maybe a mistake on his part, letting the cat out of the bag so to speak !
Before the session – although the coat was not matted, it didn’t sit flush to his body because it was holding lots of dead hair from the winter coat (see the piccie on the left).
After the session the coat looked smoother, and felt silkier.
Following the session, dad Alex from Belmont, Bolton, Greater Manchester said :
“After his 3 hour grooming and conditioning session naughty Norman looks incredible. Thanks you so much Sandra @EssentiallyPurrfect for your patience x.”
Fantastic, thanks Alex !! It was lovely being asked to work with Norman.
Such a handsome chappy !
Keep up the good work boys !
Is this the case in your house ?
Then why not book a mobile grooming session in with us !
We’d love to hear from you !
gentle george
This gentle boy is 14 years old Maine Coon George who lives in Didsbury, Manchester with his cat companions and family.
It took George about 3 minutes to settle down on the grooming table. Then he spent the rest of the session in semi-sleep mode, listening to the soothing cat music that was playing. We think he really enjoyed it and that it relaxed him.
George’s coat was thick and was ready for a good brush out. We were able to tease out tangles that had formed, apart really from around the base of his tail and rear area, where we clipped away some hair.
It was a really nice session and we’re sure that George will be feeling much more comfy with his new coat now.
Following the session, mum Ann said :

Molly and Yoda
These 2 housemates live in Warrington, Cheshire and are the most loved little girls you can imagine.
Molly (piccie on the left) is a very pretty 10 years old black Persian cross. She is a confident lady and told us in no uncertain terms that she’d rather be doing something else, rather than be sitting on the grooming table. Her coat is in good condition, without any mats. Just 1 or 2 tangles were worked through during Molly’s brush out to relieve her coat of dead hair. Afterwards, Molly went for a top up at the filling station, then off upstairs to chill.
Yoda is a very beautiful, spritely 20 year old (yes – 20 year old !) Blue Persian and as such has a very thick coat. Mum is able to brush and Yoda was mat free, but her coat was very heavy and a little tangly – so we decided that a clip was the best way forward to make life easier for her. Yoda is an extremely shy and timid girl, but she came and said Hello with no fear. She settled on the grooming table as we set about the session, and wasn’t in the least bit afraid of the clippers. Yoda was quite intent on watching out into her garden whilst the session proceeded, although as far as we could tell not even a bird was hanging around. Just a cat thing ! After the session it was evident that Yoda was immediately more happy with her new coat. After a snack, Yoda set about a good washing session before relaxing on dad’s knee in the living room (see piccie below, right of one chilled out girl). You could almost hear the purrs from the kitchen ! Well done Yoda … Such a brave girl and you do look so gorgeous ! You know that you’re such a beautiful girl, don’t you !
Pop over to our facebook page where you can see a very short (3 second) video clip of Yoda strolling across her kitchen, just after her clip.
After the sessions, mum Andrea said :
