EssentiallyPurrfect is dedicated to providing an enjoyable, stress free grooming session for both you and your cat. For this reason, we schedule 1.5 to 3 hours for each visit – ensuring rest time during the session if necessary. As we provide a 1:1 service, your cat’s groom will never be rushed. We want your cat to be as relaxed and stress free as possible.
We ask that your cat is waiting calmly in the house, preferably in a small room with closed doors/windows, for our arrival. Please allow a half hour arrival window to allow for unpredictable traffic/last groom appointment over running. We will telephone from the road to update you if this occurs.
When we arrive at your home, we will determine the best location for the grooming session. The aim is to provide a calm and safe atmosphere for your cat, together with ensuring the space is suitable for the session.
We will then meet your cat, and if this is the first grooming appointment we will spend a few minutes getting to know him/her. All initial appointments begin with a free consultation to enable us to tailor a programme for your cat’s individual needs. We will also discuss any health issues or behaviour of note. You will complete and sign our Customer Declaration card, which includes basic contact information, details about your cat, and our standard Terms & Conditions.
It is strongly recommended that you familiarise yourself with this document prior to the appointment. We can send you the document by post, e-mail, or you can download and print it from our website (download here).
We also take this opportunity to discuss the particulars of the groom and anticipated cost of the service. Services include full groom with dry or wet bath, treatment shampoos, hand held drying if necessary, clipping of mats, paws/hygiene trim, nail trimming, ear and eye cleaning, hand trimming, Full or Lion Clip. Each cat’s grooming needs are individual. Determining factors include type of coat, condition of coat, size of cat and importantly the co-operation level of your cat. Any matted areas that cannot be removed by brushing will usually be clipped out, preventing stress to your cat.
Please schedule an additional 20 minutes overall, if this is your cat’s 1st session so we can complete this process.
We will then set up our equipment in the allocated room.
Products used include the John Paul Mitchell range and are solution based, created to address the most common grooming needs : shedding, tear stains, odour, dirt and dander, build up around eyes and ears and a dry itchy flaky skin and coat. The range is specially formulated to treat the individual unique skin and coat needs of your cat. All the John Paul Mitchell products are designed to be safe, natural and ph balanced and are tested on humans first !
